Thank you so much for the replies! For the life of me, I can not figure out why my car has not sold. It can literally be parked next to a new Vette, and with regard to the condition of the paint, body and interior, aside from the obvious styling differences, it is really almost indistinguishable from new. Last few times in for service, it has been given a clean bill of health by the regional Corvette specialist at Sunset Chevrolet here in my town. Is it because it is unmodified without 750 RWHP? Do buyers no longer want a showroom quality car? Is it not priced low enough? I am clueless. Dealers ads in Hemmings and elsewhere are asking 5000 to 10000 dollars more for cars like mine with more miles and photos of really marginal interior appearance. I am very respectfully asking for comments about what I need to do to sell this car. Only reason for sale is knee replacement surgery.
Thanks again,
Gregg

Most buyers want to come and look the car over. Youre pretty much eliminating the rest of the country by where you live. Then theres the shipping cost. Your car will sell, just be patient. Fish dont drive corvettes....

Very good looking C5. What options does it have?

Hi, and Thanks,
All the options are listed on the glovebox door label. They include sport seats with memory, head up display, stereo with CD, dual zone A/C, tilt and power telescoping steering wheel, auto dimming mirror, etc. Basically, it has all options that were available except for the trunk mounted CD changer and adjustable suspension. If you are not familiar with the RPO's ( regular production options) listed on the glovebox door label, they can easily be found on the internet. They give a complete list of what the car is comprised of.

I am currently looking to spend $10k. My choices are very nice C4 or high mile C5. Most responses on this forum say go C5 because it's a better car and Corvette owners typically take better care of their cars.
FB Marketplace has 21 C6s listed within 100 miles of me. Four of those cars are priced under $20k. High mileage cars. I think this is what you are up against.

I’m not sure you are comparing apples to apples. After a year you would wish you spent the extra money on a well kept low mileage car. There are a discriminating buyers who are willing to pay more for a nicer car. This appears to be a very nice car and not overpriced. The C5’s are a much better car than the 4’s.

craig1952 I was using my search only as an example. In the case of greggsmith's car why would I spend $15k for a mint low mile car when I can buy the new improved version for nearly the same price? I don't really care about the miles if the car has been well maintained. If his car was collectible and I was buying for an investment it would be a different story. But I'm gonna drive the snot out of whatever I buy.

Appreciation
I really appreciate the feedback and varied perspectives. Looks like I just need to keep lowering the price until it is about even with what the local Chevy dealer will pay for it. It is getting close. Kind of a shame--some one could get a like new Vette for not much money.
Many Thanks,
Gregg

Didn’t receive the PM. Could you try again? I flew some missile crews to Vandenberg in 1991 or so for a competition. It’s a beautiful area. Got to see a couple of Minuteman missile launches as part of the competition — it was spectacular! Went home with a plane load of strawberries.

Personally I think it's a beautiful car for "disposable razor money"... that's a lot of "eyeball" and "cool" for 15,000!!!...... prospective buyers.... are you REALLY going to enjoy driving around in a $ 60,000 corvette 4 times as much as a 15,000 corvette? I doubt it....
15,000 is the down payment on a 60,000 corvette... it's just a thought???
I prefer the one payment plan!!! Let's face it... these cars are toys.... your going to walk past it in the garage 10 times for every time you drive it... I would suggest that if you "only have 15,000 wrapped up..... you'll smile when you have to walk by it!!!
my .02 ,,,, wish you well with the sale
