Default APS C5 Twin Turbo Status?

Peter,

I haven't seen an update on the APS C5 twin turbo system in a while. How is the project progressing?

I think they are working on testing and plan to release the kit before the end of the year. Judging by their C6 and GTO kits I expect their C5 kit to be top top notch.

Having done one, I don't see why the C6 kit wouldn't work fine as long as you swap to a C6 oil pan.

Iam also interested to know about the following

-What's the biggest size turbos that can be run with your kit? The GT3076R is a bit small for my 427.

-What is the current expected price & release dates?

The C5 twin turbo system is still a work in progress right now - testing a good number of intercooler designs/positions for the C5 to ensure the best possible engine cooling.

100% correct - if all goes to plan I'm still hoping for a late Oct 06 release date - at worst certainly before the end of 06 at latest for the release.

I'm hopeful that we can offer/package twin 65 lb per minute mass air flow turbos, ceratinly we intend to package large enough turbos to cater for large cubic inch engines, the 427 cube should be a no brainer for the APS C5 twin intercooled twin turbo system.

I'll post info on pricing for the C5 TT system as soon as I have confirmed pricing.

So am I, glad to see you are also.

Over the last few months our engineering team have tested a good number of twin turbo and intercooler combinations to ensure that the APS twin turbo system is extremely flexible and broadly suit 346 - 427 cube engines. I'd expect around 600/600 from a bone stock LS1 tuned for 93 octane fuel, the future looks rosey for sure.

I might be switching to a forged 346 and a APS TT.

I don't want to knock your Vortech setup, but let's just say I don't think you would be disappointed with a twin turbo combo.

Let me guess, that's got to be one of the GT35R series turbos, right?

let's wait and see, I don't want to pre-empt what the final turbo spec will be, still lots of data to analyze before making a final turbo spec decision.

If APS's C5 kit is half as good as their C6 kit, it'll rival any TT kit.

Caravaggio installed APS's TT kit on his personal C6 widebody, and I've yet to see a TT kit so refined and professional looking.
TT's are not my choice of weapon, but if it was, I'd go with APS's in a heartbeat.

No problem, happy to help out with info where possible. Our tech guys are attempting to shoe horn a pair of GT35R turbos as I post, the next few weeks should be real interesting, I'll keep you posted on any progress.

Please do your best to do this. I don't anticipate any major issues since I know LPE did fit the GT35R turbos on their 1000+ hp builds.

I'm not sure what you stated about is correct................more likely GT 30 sized turbos.

They did it on their 1000+ hp C6. Hopefully you guys can fit the same turbo size for the C5
