Default APS twin intercooled twin turbo system - MSRP

Hi Guys, It's taken a good deal of time to complete the bill of materials for the APS C5 intercooled twin turbo system and to cost the complete twin turbo system as the C5 system is so labor intensive to produce. There's a massive amount of fabrication labor in the stainless ducting, twin intercoolers, twin 3'' stainless steel exhaust system, waste gate pipes, etc, etc, so my sincere apologies for the small delay in releasing the MSRP for the C5 twin turbo system.

The exciting news is that the MSRP for the APS C5 intercooled twin turbo system will be set at $7995 (that's much less than what I was expecting), that's for the complete intercooled twin turbo system (just add your own fuel system), which includes every nut, bolt and washer required for the twin turbo install.

If all goes to plan and it should I expect to start shipping C5 intercooled twin turbo systems to US APS dealers around mid December so with a little luck there may be a small number of APS twin turbo C5 Corvettes running by late December.

There will be comprehensive install instructions provided with the APS C5 twin turbo system (similiar to the APS C6 install instructions) for those who are mechanically inclined though I highly recommend that that you leave the install to an experienced turbo tech/shop unless you have loads of twin turbo experience under your belt.

Pics and info on the C5 intercooled twin turbo system at the link below and if you have any questions pertaining to the APS C5 twin turbo, just let me know and I will do my best to get the info for you guys.

That is a great price!
How easily can the system be adapted for an electronic boost controller?
Will there be an option of thermal coated hot parts or would that not be needed?

Nice,

This may be a stupid question, but is that a custom housing to allow for that external wastegate configuration. I've never seen one quite like that (although I have not seen that many turbos). It almost seems like an external/internal hybrid design to me.

Also, is there a pump for the oil return?

Thanks, I'm also very happy to see the C5 twin turbo system MSRP set at a level where more C5 Corvette enthusiasts will get to experience the awesome twin turbo performance, it is a tough gig given the huge increases in base metal materials of late though I hope that APS can maintain that prcing for the next 6 months at least.

Very easily or you can simply swap out the springs in the external wastegates.

Not directly from APS though there are many thermal coating specialists in the US who can coat the exhaust manifolding for you.

Just do ALL of us in the performance C5 community a favor. Dont turn around in a couple of months and say "Well ****, The kits are selling sooooo well I think we need to increase the price to 8995."
Cause for some da@m reason thats what every other company does to us (Except our boys ECS).

Look at STS for example. They were "Supposed" to be the cheaper alternative to TT setups.
But after all the recognition, they ended up jacking up their prices.
Now for a base kit shipped to Vegas it's like 7800 bucks.

So for 200 more dollars you can have a faarrrr superior kit like the APS. Or for and extra 1200-1500 bucks you can have the tried and true dominator of TT's the TTi..

If you do, I will be the FIRST one to call you out..

Not a stupid question at all. The exhaust port for an external gate can be located on the exhaust manifolding (pre turbo) or at/on the turbine housing, in this instance having the waste gate ex port on the turbine housing made more sense as the external gates packaged more efficiently given the limited space.

Yes there is, I'll get some pics of the oil return system next week once the C5 is back from road testing.

Any potential future price increase would be directly related to material commodities pricing which have been going through the roof over the last year or so, not APS raising the price for additional profits.

I just noticed the downpipes & wastegates occupy the space that has catalytic converters. There will be some exhaust mod necessary to remove the cats and put a flange on the H-pipe, is that correct?

Peter, am I rememebering correctly that with the C5 kit the exhaust is included threw the H-pipe? Are injectors included? If not what size do you recomend for a stock bottom end? What else other than the kit will be needed to install, drive and enjoy the car? Thanks, Dan

Looks like my Procharger system is coming off and APS TT going on. I hope to do a forged engine at the same time as the TT install. Waiting to see more R&D on this C5 system once released to the public.

How much of the exhaust system is included? Is this to the cat-back system (includes H-pipe portion), or just to the flange after the wastegates (end of downpipes)?

Does this mean the kit does not come with injectors or BAP like originally anticipated?

Do the turbos have ball bearings, or are they full (dual) journal bearings?

What brand and size of turbos (not including the custom cast turbine housing)?
