MATT,

At your nice power levels would make sense to spend the $50 and got an 8 rib belt, if your getting an 8 rib pulley, to insure that the belt won't slip when you launch as far into the 10s as you possibly can this season!

When in this deep this is about the cheapest mod that I can think of that will help you meet all your goals on your maggie boosted Roadster!

well on the maggie, to go smaller then the 3.0 pulley that is already on the car you have to machinr the snout to exept anything smaller, and i was just going to buy one that is already machined that came with a 8 rib pulley, jim if i could change all the other pulley's , including the crank pulley for $50 i would of already done that, but i think it would cost at least $1300, for a new crank pulley (overdrive) and the other pulleys,

Absolutely. I just finished putting my ECS overdrive pulley on. It is an 8-rib. It wasn't in the budget to make all of the rest of the pulleys 8-rib, so I am running a 6-rib and will be for a while I am sure.

Good point, a brain lapse on my part as its been a long day downtown for me today and i was thinking the pulley/belt systems on centrifical supercharger and not a maggie!

cool, but my set up would be the oppisite, as the 8 rib would be on top, (supercharger, and 6 rib stock balancer, you think it would still work?

I'd say if all your other pulleys are the 6 rib (Which I hope I'm right in this assumption) and you have the 8 ribber then you should be good as they, all the other 6 ribbers, will keep it all lined up correctly!

It looks as if others have done it and you'd should be good as well

Thanks,Matt

that is the case all other pulleys are 6 rib, exept for an 8 rib on the snout of the supercharger, thanks, Matt.

I still say you'll have no issues with an 8 rib on the Maggie and 6 rib belt. Most important is alignment, second, is belt wrap. (mine used to throw the belt when I grabbed gears at high rpm until I added an add'l idler).

The $1300 is about right, I know I just got in my 8 rib pulley kit for my winter modding

i might be wrong, but last i heard the F-body balancers don't work with our cars because the vette accessories are a different distance away from the block
