Default Any interest in a Custom Dewitts rad for the blower guys?

Hi guys, I've been talking to Tom over at Dewitts about making a rad with the core about 2" shorter. The tanks will be the same length so it will still mount in then same location and still be able to sue the shroud depending on your application. You will just need to trim off the top of the fan shroud.

What this will allow you to do is run a striaght shot into the blower, no going up-wards to clear the rad-this will work on both Andy's kit with the rad straight up as well as the ECS kits. Taking 2 inch's off the top will not affect cooling-it's still sooo much bigger than stock. Getting a more direct path into the blower with a large free flowing filter means more boost without having to spin the blower faster.

The cost for the rad is $545 plus shipping, if we get 10 guys then Tom said we can get 10% off for a price of 490.50 each.

Let me know if anyone is interested-thanks!

Great idea Bro, it will work well. I installed something similar and gained boost without spinning the head unit harder

Arun, kudos to you for always tweaking and trying to maximize anything you do. This kind of thinking is what drives competition and at the end of the day the vette community is rewarded with great products!

Shorter radiator is on my list of mods before the summer. Is there going to be an integrated oil cooler or should I do a separate unit for that? The oil cooler is on my list too, but my budget is pretty tight right now. I will probably have to jump on this one. Let me know.

Bro-do a seperate oil cooler for sure. OntarioVette had the integrated cooler on his car and after we removed it his oil temps dropped and his pressure increased.

If we get 10 guys then the cost goes down to 490.50-which is a pretty smoking deal for the Dewitts.

This is going to work mint with my new YSi

With this radiator, can you run it at the stock position (angle) with a F1R?

I'm assuming you want to stand the rad back up like in Andy's new kit. I would say yes but with a few mods. First off you would need to get the rad drop spacers. Second you would still probably have to cut the rad bar and move it maybe 2" forward. This would still give you alot more room between the intercooler and the rad. I'll grab a stock cradle and so some checking.

Hi Ron, for your car all you would do is just swap rads and trim the silicone hose going into the blower so it's striaght instead of angled upwards. You may need a new inlet pipe-maybe, those around $75, but that's a maybe. You could also stand the rad back up to move it away from the intercooler-that would require cutting the center portion and moving it back then rewelding.

I'll look and see what the differences are in the cradles-standing the rad back up would be the best for cooling.

Any suggestion on what oil cooler would be a good choice and where to mount, etc....
