that looks like it went to lean and burned a hole. usually too big of a shot would take out a chunk of the piston or snap/throw a rod.

that looks like too much nitrous and not enough fuel. was it a direct port kit?

Yeah, I rejetted to a larger shot and didnt bother changing the tune accordingly......I guess I was just lazy or thought the stock internals would handle an extra 50 shot. Oh well. The rods were also bent from all that cylinder pressure.....have it hanging up in my garage as a keepsake.

2 plus years, 700 plus rwhp 600 plus rwt and lots of hard runs. My stock bottom was still in perfect shape when I replaced it with forged one. I guess, I have been lucky

Congratulations!

2000 Ls1 Convert - At about 35k stock engine started having blow by - teardown revealed 5 pistons did not have the top compression ring at all - only the bottom compression ring installed. One piston -number 7 had cracked top edge similiar to what is shown in some of these pics. It started blowing oil out of the dipstick hole at high speeds - looking behind seeing a huge trailing smoke cloud can ruin your day!

I broke the ringland on #7 @ 570rwhp. I replaced evrything except the rods. I was not planning on going much higher. OH WELL! I broke the stock rods at 805rwhp.

Gee, I guest I'll not be increasing the boost on mine. It's been begging me to boost it more. And to tell you guys the truth, I suffer from to much power and not enouph driver, i've only had 3 cars that I respect, this thing tops the list.
