It's very drastic temperature change. At my old shop I did some street testing where I actually taped cardboard over the IC core front and back to prevent airflow. Normal driving to see how much heat was added to the IATs, what I noticed was that as soon as I made a pull into boost the temps would climb and not come back down easily like they do with the IC core exposed to airflow. I would see the IATs hit 140-160* on 1 pull up to 120mph, then stay around 120* once cruising again. But with the IC full exposed to airflow the IATs would only reach 110* on the same pull to 120mph and then drop down to 10-15* over ambient temps within a minute of cruising.

Having our new Billet Tensioner allows you to lock the tensioner open with the locking pin and that makes it much easier to route and install a new belt. But with my new bracket I have guys running the same belt for multiple seasons of racing or street racing without needing to change it.

I'll tell you, I'm impressed with my kit! I have a completely incorrect NA cam for a SC application on a 112 centerline (=overlap) , and it still makes 10+psi, I figured I would get no more than 6psi.

Hello Josh,
Finally got my car tuned... I love the cam you recommended (Jam cam) it sounds bad azz! It looks like it's all in the tune... I can still lug it down to 1000 - 1500 rpm and it runs like stock. But when you jump on it wow!
Nothing like an A&A SC.... 661 RHP / 551 FT LBS
Thank you so much!

Josh can you take a look at these pictures and tell me what im doing wrong. Im having problems with the dongle fitting. I can get it past that sheet metal piece but there is no room for the air filter. I have intalled the cradle spacers, cut half on the rubber cushion off the bottom of the radiator and trimed the fan mounting tabs. I have pdaft engine mounts, i know they lower engine but im not sure if they would do this? Thanks.

The dongle and intercooler hose were a PITA for me too. I have OEM mounts and I would up cutting the sheet metal a little to give more room. I too see that the air filter hits the intercooler and is in a really difficult position to get right. I also had to get a low profile radiator as the dongle hit the radiator even when trimmed and hammered down a bit.

Just watch your coolants temps and see how it does. Eventually you will want to finish installing it. When you are ready to try again call us at the shop for help.

Hey, have a few questions. Just got my v3 black out kit, looks awesome. I'm planning on doing the install myself in the winter along with the other parts . I have a 98 with a six speed...I have a ls6 intake, 1 7/8 kooks long tubes and the si kit w 3.6" pulley all waiting to go in this winter
I'm wondering what you would recommend for a cam... is there a need for a bigger TB ?.....also should I be looking at a meth set up or meth/water ? I'm Also debating if I should get some 243 heads i know I will have to do springs with a bigger cam.
Ultimately, I want a fun weekend car/ still very drivable. Sorry for all the questions, but I would rather do all the work at once so I don't have to pay someone to tune it multiple times

For mild cam that's easy to tune get our A&A Blower cam 220/230 .585" 116 LSA and dual springs.
For a choppy more aggressive cam get the Jam Cam that Brian Tooley Racing carries.
Other things you might want to consider during the winter teardown:
Update to the '04 Alternator bracket
Update to '04 water-pump with alum gaskets. *especially if you have the original '98 water pump with bolt-on pulley and paper gaskets.
Replacement harmonic balancer and front main seal. *Summit Racing C2501 or TFS-19005

Thanks Josh, is the jamming cam still going to be ok for daily driver or is it going to be more just for strip?
And thanks again I'll start putting the list together and stock piling parts for the winter lol

Since you have the slow '98 pcm it might be a little too much for daily driver, unless you have a really good tuner around you with good drivability experience. Otherwise the safe choice is the A&A cam.
