Re: Vette Doctors+ATI= 540 RWHP 02 EB Z06 (Austrian Vette)
Just a short note of thanks to everyone for the support, most appreciated.
I finally got to take the car out onto the road today. First w/ Carmen driving, gave him some entertainment as I was white knuckled to the seat, and later on my own. As others have reported from 3.5k up the car really hauls. I do find that off idle and low rpm it's softer than stock, gonna try and see if that can be remedied although it does make launches easier.
I'm gonna go w/ a larger fuel pump(Lingenfelter), still a little lean(12.6:1) near redline and pulsewidth is at max.
The pod w/ gauges were installed also today. As it turns out boost at redline is 9lbs., more in line of what I expected.
MelloYellow--
I used a 3/8" long dowel. 1/4" into the crank, 1/8" into the damper. The slot cut into the damper is oversized in width by .012", enough slack to allow me to pull the damper off if needed.
Will have to get the cam specs., Am using the stock cats.,as above larger pump coming

I'd get an LS1 Scanmaster along with a Fuel Pressure gauge, then you are set.
We're drilling my crank tomorrow. Almost with ya on your keyway & dowel setup. Yours stuck out 1/8" into the damper, or .125" and was 1/4" wide. You made your damper .262" wide on the keyway and how tall on the keyway for the .125" pin out of the crank?
Still unsure if I'll do the keyway at a local machine shop or send it back to ATI Perf for the keyway.. Did it matter where the keyway was made on the damper? Did TDC on the damper matter? Pin position on the crank matter?
I'm planning 2 pins, 7/8" long x 3/16" wide. ATI Perf reccs 90% of that 7/8" pin to be in the crank snout for strength and only 10% or .093" out. Think I'll go 85% in, 15% out, or... 3/4" in crank and 1/8" .125" out of the snout.
So.. wondering if the pin holes matter or if the damper has to go back on in the exact same spot? It's neutrally balanced and can go in any position, right?
Guess I'll add at least 1/16" to the width and height for clearance. Any comments are welcome. Dun want to screw it up.

MelloYellow---
Yea, want to keep the A/F ratio on the low side.
I went about .010" deeper, so .135 total.
Forgot to mention, I lined the keyway up w/ one of the spokes on the damper, figured it was stronger there, less chance of any cracking under load.
If I had it to do over I would also use two pins, when I made my setup the ATI hadn't been released.
My damper was neutral, didn't mattter what position it went back on.
I would make the clearance less, .0625 is quite a bit, if your uncomfortable w/.01-.012 go .025, still enough to drive a truck through. :D
Good Luck,
John

Glad to see things are working out good for you John! You are right on the prog., not the easiest on the Zo6/blower!
