Default Nitrous & 4l60E, can they coexist ?

Is it possible to make the 4l60E last longer with the use of N2O? How much would stuff like the progressive controller & window switch help to save the tranny? (assuming the tranny oil is cooled properly).
Besides, I believe that spraying N2O from a roll is easier on the tranny than spraying it from a dead stop, right ?

Yes, spraying out of the hole is brutal on the tranny. I would consider an upgrade to FLP's or Yanks heavy duty A4 units.

The LPE 427TT C5 runs 9.20s @ 150 with a 4L60e. Carl Rossler did the mods, http://www.rosslertrans.com. I used him to modify the trans in my '91 vette, ran 10.30s@138. Would highly recommend him. LPE uses him alot.

THe tranny is not the greatest and it will not hold up under ntirous use. Some have gone far with it though, but it seems the tranny is the first to go before people blow the engines. I lost my tranny to a nitrous 100 shot. Speed Inc tranny for me :D

My FLP tranny cannot exist WITHOUT the NOS :D

It´s kind of addicted, I would say.

I always here it saying give me more.....give me a big shot.....more...more...:D

Stock tranny didn´t take it for long.

I wonder if the FLP tranny would hold for a 422 plus some Nitrous

I beat her with 225 shot NOS, that was about 550rwhp.
No problem at all!!!!

I just have heads/cam install, so be about 670+rwhp.
Don´t expect tha tranny to fail.

I have a friend that runs the same tranny on his 800hp twin turbo impala since two year now, without a problem. I think he makes about 850+ torque.

I'll stay tuned then :D

When are you planning to make that 600+rwhp run ?

As soon as I get my shiftpoints fixed (WOT shiftponts are set wrong on my new PCM :( ) That will take about 3 weeks.
Then I`ll step up th eNOs 50, 75,100....... to look if I max out my fuelpump.
Then I´ll decide how much hp NOS I´ll spray bevore I get a better fuel pump.

Right now I don´t know what fuel pump to get.
Need an easy swap setup, but noone seems to have one ready, yet :(

We also sell a trans for the c-5 just like the one in Wade's 422/No2 that made 800+rwhp! This was the trans we went 9.42 with. The trtans can be built hold but at these power levels there is some maint. involved, we are working on a few more things for this year on the trans that we will test soon; track opens in two weeks!!

I've heard good things about Speed Inc.'s tranny. I'll probably be getting in touch with Tom Izzo when I need my trans. upgraded! :yesnod:
