Default 3.2 on an s-trim

we currently have a 3.6" pulley on a vortech v2 s-trim. it's hitting 9psi right at redline as is, with the stock balancer. we're wanting to run around 12psi. would a 3.2" pulley be safe on the s-trim and would it hit 12psi? i know it "should" but i'd like to hear from people who actually know.

IF you don't have any boost leaks, that will get you there. Maybe a pound more.

A 3.3 would probably get you 12psi a 3.2 you might see more, but you could always not spin it as high. I have both sizes for sale if your looking for one. Both are the Reichard racing ultra grip and work great.

7000rpms but more power to you on that I plan on spinning mine a little north on that once I get my new set up in. Well the boost is going to depend on a lot of variables. Intake, exhaust, RPM's, and altitude can matter. I'm not sure what pulley your runnikng now, but a 3.2 at 7k and I'd think if your close to sea level you might see somewhere between 15-17 if it doesn't run out of steam. I think I remember see your email on my work address and responded, but you decided on going a different way correct me if I'm wrong, I'm getting old.

it's okay, we have a built motor with decent heads, so it's fine at 7k. we have a 3.6 right now, seeing 9psi right up top. i'd like around 12-13 for now. i may pick that 3.3 up off of you for now. if it don't work, then i can try a 3.2 later. i actually just e-mailed you yesterday, so you might have me confused

at 5,500 we're probably only seeing around 6-7psi with the 3.6. what other mods do you have? 573 sounds pretty damn good for 5,500rpm.

If it's a 346, stock heads, & close to a stock or Z06 cam, and a cold day you could get 12. S-trim goes flat on top. It's a mid-range blower.

Bill,
You have a 3.3 and 3.2 Reichard?
I have a 3.4, 3.2, 3.1, 3.0, and a 2.8" Reichard! All 6-rib.
Tried all these and a couple more on the S.

stock cubes, 10.1:1 compression, forged pistons and rods, patriot stage II heads, long tubes, catless b&b cat-back, and a pretty decent .600 lift cam.

what kind of boost were you seeing on each one of those? i'm just trying to figure out what's typical.

Engine was stock except for a A&A blower cam and 918 valve springs. With the 3.6 I was seeing 10lbs and a little more on cold days.

Not all head units are created the same, some may just put out a little more (Monday vs. Friday builds ). Also, cams can change things a little too.

I heard you wear all those pulleys around your neck when you go clubbin, why else would you have so many of them.

I true pioneer like me or as everyone else calls it "your going to blow that sh@t up" After seeing your blue car with the ET numbers it gave me a false sense of security and I blame you for pushing my stock lower end block to almost 800rwhp. Any way it sounded good to put the blame on someone. lol

Thanks buddy.

I only pushed mine because someone else here on the forum had pushed theirs... The end for me was going to the strip with 2 other guys, (Triz and Streetfast) They both put there cars it the 9's that day so I had to turn it up a little to keep up. Luckly I didn't blow anything up in the process. The pressure got to me finally and I went forged so I could sleep at night...

Now I want to hit the 1000rwhp mark, I have a 2.8 pulley for the YSi in the garage to get me one step closer. Will the quest to push these motors ever end

yep i'm shooting for that mark as well, my forged engine is in the works. I'm runing a ysi myself right now on the stock lower end with a 6 rib 3.1 pulley. I'll end up going with a bigger iw crank pulley and droping to a 2.8 or 2.7 on the new set up.

Hey guys don't mean to hijack,
But I'm on a YSi now too, with a 2.6" pulley and 8" balancer.
Went to the track, took off easy from an idle and let off early - got kicked off the first run for a 9's pass.
