How do restrictor plates work? RMS man mentioned it, and I saw it mentioned on another thread.

Thanks!

I wouldnt worry too much about that if you have your engine build correctly, i.e. a good builder and forged rotating assembly and the right size blower pully. It limits boost in the upper RPM ranges to prevent over boosting uptop. You find a lot of your stock bottom end guys using them if they run a huge blower on a stock engine. That's why you see everyonce in awhile a Stock LS6 at or over the 700 WHP mark. However, almost all of them eventually fail.

as quoted from doug at ECS:

We have sent a few to Andy a while back, but I am not aware if he uses them regularly or not. If you have any other questions feel free to ask or call us.

Build, your forged motor with quality componets, ARP studs in the mains, and heads as well as APR rod bolts, get good heads, (FOR PETE'S SAKE DONT USE STOCK AND OR HOLLOW STEM VALVES, AT A MINIMUM GET SOME MANLEY VALVES OR FERRERA VALVES; IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT GET INCONEL EXHAUST VALVES), get a good fuel system, (TO HELL WITH BOOST A PUMPS SPEND THE MONEY AND GET GOOD FUEL PUMPS), get desired blower, figure out what pully you need to run to get amount of desired boost, run at least an 8 rib pully setup with a flip drive system, get rest of drive train built, get a good safe reliable tune from a professional tuner and go out and smah everything you come across and drive it like your driving Ms. Daisy on sundays if you wish.

LOL, MVP, I like your attitude. Especially the smash everything you come accross and drive it like you are driving Ms. Daisy on Sundays.

Thanks again - I'll be back with more questions I'm sure!
