Default Does Anybody Make a Budget 76cc head?

I've looked, but have been unsuccessful so far finding a budget head with a 76cc combustion chamber volume. I found the AFR's and Trickflows in that size, but nothing else.

The closest I've found is a 72cc LQ9 head. I'm trying to keep the price range about $1500.

I'd like to bring my compression down between 9 and 9.5:1 if possible.

If you use the 317 heads 72cc and the ls9 head gaskets that get your comp down. The ls9 gaskets are 5 layer. What pistons are you running?

I'm pretty sure you can get the "AS CAST" TFS heads in any size. Contact TEA.

Ok I made some assumptions to give you an idea of the compression. If something is not right just let me know. With a 5.7 3.898 bore, -10cc piston @ 0 deck height, 72cc combustion chamber, 3.622 stroke (stock), and a .051 thick head gasket. It comes out to 8.701. With everything the same but a 4.00 bore it is 9.063. I am at Disney so I am doinf this on my phone. I believe the ls9 gaskets are a little thicker than .051 but I will have to check on Monday.

That is what I went with. Arun I am thinking he is looking for cheap here. The 317 head like the other guy has said is going to get him as low as it will go. I love the TFS heads work like a dream on the car.... Robert

Thanks. Nemo was a must. The kids would never let me out of here without seeing Nemo.

I am curious to know the F/I setup and the amount of boost to want the compression down?

What's the bore and stroke of your engine? You could also send a pair of 317 heads to TEA and have them opened up.

I was targeting around 10psi to start and avoid using a meth injection, but I will probably land up doing that since that seems to be a pretty proven method to keep you out of detonation.

Something is not right. I calculated approximately 11:1 with a 62 cc head. This website (http://cleanandsober.741.com/CompressionCalculator.html) confirmed my calculation within a tenth so I'm not sure how you calculated it. I rounded pi to 3.1415.

My uncompressed volume comes out to 909.5cc and my compressed volume comes out to 82.6cc. 909.5/82.6= 11.01. This was assuming a head gasket thickness of .051". I don't bother with the overbore of the head gasket thickness since the volume is so small (less than 1cc)

I have a stock decked ls2 and it has -14 pistons ( i believe) or somewhat near that and I am running texas speed stage 2.5 5.3 heads because the heads i was going to run which was 72cc heads was gping to put my compression in the mid to high 8s and with the tx speed heads which i believe are 62cc heads it puts me right at 9.6 to 1 or somewhere close to that. Arun feel free to chime in to verify that as Arun helped me get the compression figured out. So long is about dead on because of several reasons.....

1 he is my engine guy
2 he also heard it from Arun that a 72cc head would put my compression way to low

and seeing you seem to have about the same piston i would be pretty certain it will also put your compreesion to low as well

3.89 bore
3.622 stroke
.051" gasket
-10cc piston
62cc heads

This will put you at 9.5:1

With a 72cc head you will be at 8.61:1 way to low. I'd use a set of ls6 heads shaved to the desired cc's with upgraded valve train and let her rip!

This is for a stroked LS2. 4.01 inch bore, 4 inch stroke.
