Hey Robert,

That's cause it was brand new. Never installed.

I had to clearance my headers to clear the scattershield for the headers.

I'll try and get some pictures as it's up on the lift in the garage.

I had to clearance my QT bellhousing for 1 7/8" ARH's. That's pretty much to be expected with any headers and an SFI bellhousing. The extra flange causes clearance issues almost always

One thing leads to something else always for sure. I just also done this pulled the pass/side header grind and to get new bellhousing back on the car.

I have this grinding noise when I turn off the car.

I originally got the billet cone due to this noise a few months back and it was broken coupler on the flexplate.
Now after 6 months, it back..
Could their billet cone be cracked? Or is this noise something else..
Its a grind sound, but happens ONLY on turn off..
Listen:
before billet cone: (cracked coupler)

and now, 4 months later...
??????????????

I've been chasing a bottom end noise that has me troubled ever since I got the RPM auto conversion.

it sounds like a light rod knock, that goes away above 2k rpms. I also notice that it gets noisy under load and quiet on coast or light load

does this sound like the noise the billet coupler makes? I'll call RPM to discuss but it sure sounds like that might be what I'm hearing which is good news!

how can you tell for sure? I'm thinking of putting the car up on the rack and pulling the inspection plug and maybe listening with the mechanics stethescope on the coupler if I can do it with it spinning

thanks for any advice.

I was told the sound with the billet cone would be at idle (with no load).
It would be like a jingle-ing type noise.
But most of our cars are somewhat loud, so that particular sound is minor if at all....

I agree sounds like a loose heat shield rattle goes away when your driving

mine sounds like a light rod knock, but I'm not seeing any junk in the oil or filter, and oil pressure is fine, no overheating, power is fine

but it's super annoying and sounds like a diesel until about 2k

at light throttle tip in it rattles almost like detonation

tune is fine. I'm thinking a bad lifter, but since it's load sensitive, a lifter wouldn't do that.

maybe a bad guibo coupler, I'm not sure if I have the billet coupler or not as my car was done a long time ago

trying to trouble shoot this problem before I tear into it!

any suggestions?

any thoughts about how to trace this knock? I've been driving the car for a long time but it drives me crazy and I'm concerned about tossing a rod.

sounds like a rod knock especially at idle and under load and then tends to go away over 2k rpms and cruize.

I hear it knocking (loud tapping) on throttle tip in and under load cruising but the car pulls strong to redline

thought it might be a collapsed lifter (and it might be)

thanks for any tips!
