As I recall, it's actually a snap that locks onto the pivot that sticks out from the shifter.

I don't think it's easily repairable.

I been following this thread for a while as I had an auto swap done on my 2000. Had problems initially with the car not shifting ONLY at wide open throttle. Turns out the differential was toast. Teeth on the gears were broken and the diff itself was broken (thanks tx speed/dte). Also the trans had a hairline crack on the input drum? I think is what I was told. Everything is back together and the car feels pretty strong now! Can't wait to see some numbers

i can email them to you, just send me your address in PM

i´m having trouble though

i need to check the PCM, plugs and all wires from PCM to Transmission (4l60e)
i´m getting pulse (rattle) to the 1-2 solenoid and the transmission is not working correctly, it doesn´t take the 1st gear or like it stuck between gears or in two gears at the same time.
and when i put it in D it starts in 4th
in 2nd it starts in 2nd and 3rd is just 3rd
but i can manual shift it from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th
the valvebody was take out and the solenoids work correctly on the table , so it is like the problem is in the harness or PCM
i rechecked all wiring i installed , got a RPM jumper harness and then Reflashed the PCM to tell it it´s AUTO

i don´t have a service manual , it´s not sold here in Iceland

i need to know what signal i´m looking for from each pin/wire
if you don´t know what i mean , i mean like what pin/wire sends ground signal , what signals V and what signals pulse.

do you guys have any chart what so ever you could send me camarof1@visir.is or maby know where i can find these informations on the web.

thanks

keep the gear oil out of the trans and the trans fluid out of the rear keeps them separate

it has a o ring on the outside edge and a shaft seal in the center just wanted to make sure you put the seals it too

I have the outer seal that came with rebuild kit I think. But I'll order the stuff I need.

Does the clutch pedal have to come out?

The auto has an output shaft seal. I don't get how fluids would get into one another

The diff does not have a input seal. Thats the reason for the plate. It gives the diff a way to seal with the auto. The auto does not have the big o ring on the back like the 6 speed to seal the trans to the diff.

Without the plate diff fluid would leak out between the trans and diff
