Default It's alive! Auto swap finally done.

Thanks guys (Bret, Shane, Doug, Troy, Rick, Im sure theres more) for all the help, parts, and service.

The install took a lot longer to get done then I planed, but work tied me up a lot. For anyone thinking about a auto swap just do it. Best mod I ever did. Now to get it final tuned and see some low 9's.

Dale

Coan 3600. Its a blast to drive. Dont get me wrong the 6 speed was fun but unless you have a bionic shifting arm like Bret the auto is the way to go.

Best mod I did for my Z06, on the street its so much more fun! Shifting gears is cool but when you almost lift the front end off the ground launching its freaking awesome!

Did you piece together the swap components or buy a kit from RPM? What "level" trans did you get?

I am wanting to do this swap as well but its very expensive....just wondering if its more cost effective to piece it together or just bite the bullet and buy the kit.

I'll be in the same power range as you. I'll be looking for low 9s with the auto.

Good stuff! I remember right after getting the auto conversion, my right hand was wanting to do something. Then I decided holding the wheel was a good idea.

I pieced mine together. Under $5K if I recall correctly as I sold off my M6 parts.

I bought the trans, conv, harness, shifter, and flywheel from z06wanted. Had rkt build a new rear, and got the rest of the odds and ends off ebay. I then sold or traded most of the 6 speed stuff to off set the cost. If you can find a deal on the tranny and conv then its not all that much after you sell off the old stuff.

The tranny I got is RPMs level 7 with a coan 3600.

The dif Rick built has the c6z pinion, 500m shafts, and is 3:42.

The combo is pretty much bullet proof.
