OK, Corvette-Chris got me going by calling me a "Internet Mechanic". Lol. I figured that he must be pretty damn sure he's right, so I tested both my boosted cars. With the vette, at 40 psi on the regulator before the throttlebody I was seeing about 4ish lbs boost on my boost gauge at the brake booster line, pressurizing the whole system. Loosened the intake rockers, and the boost gauge was right in line with the regulator. So it was kinda working for me. Now on my Mazda, solid roller 434 SBC with Turbo setup, nada, nothing. So i guess for me it kinda worked a little. Either way, at least i know i don't have a boost leak now.

I haven't tried doing a boost leak test (I need to) but I can't see the valves bleeding off enough to close. I've been inside my valve covers lots recently. Tried doing a leakdown test and the only way I could do it was to back off the rockers. And backing them off for the purposes of a boost leak test would allow you to use a leakdown tester to see exactly how much is being bled off via the various leaks.
PS: Is this a good way to test for boost leaks on a TT setup? I figure I'm going to have to cap off one turbo inlet, back off the rockers and feed the other turbo inlet with air. Either that or start with the throttle body and then test the turbos individually.
