I run quite a bit at road America with a Blown 364 making north of 900whp. As long as your car is built right and has a sufficient cooling system you will be perfectly fine. N/A is better suited for road racing, but you can definitly run forced induction.

I wondered this too as I'm going A&A in the spring and enjoy an HPDE or two a year. I've only run in novice so far so not really pushing it to the limits, nor would I probably - gotta keep that shiny side up!

Several issues spring to mind, but most apply to any powerful car.
Firstly, for sustained high rpm, your belt drive will need to be top notch. I'd think that if you are spinning your bower at or near max rpm for sustained periods....again, that would be the harshest thing in mechanical terms, and something normal street use or 1/4 mile would ever see.
Other than that, combustion chamber temps are the next issue. Whether that is kept in check by water, meth, very efficient intercooling, etc etc, doesnt matter.
But 10secs at WOT is not the same as say 30-60secs at maintained WOT.
All it takes is proper monitoring, design and tuning though. EGT monitoring will give you a good indication. Really if all is well, these should rise to a certain level, and rise no further regardless of how long your foot is nailed. It's up to you or your tuner to decide what a safe level is for your application.

My car is at A&A right now. I have a stock 04 coupe, other than big sway bars. I do about three track days here in So Cal a year. I plan on running just as I do now. Watch the engine temps and back off when it heats up. They are installing new double valve springs just in case one breaks. Big rule is to not run it low on fuel. I run in the intermediate class. Really looking forward to being able to keep up in the straights. I was smoked recently by a stock 12 Mustang GT at Fontana. I bet not next time.......

That car ran deep nines the weekend before that, and has the right kit/idlers/belt tracking design on the car for sustaining those RPM's.
That was one of two cars that entered that race, both drove back on the trailers. We also have several other customers who HPDE their SC cars, but for a dedicated track car, I would go N/A personally.

I assume the above is mostly an endurance event ? Seems most of the track is just straight. Not exactly very challenging from a driver point of view.
And on audio and screen, it says max speed of race was 173mph ? Given the straights, is there a reason for such a low speed ? Or is the idea of the race to maintain a certain average speed ?

Its basically a bracket race. An 8.50 cage certs you to a max of 165 and a 140 mph average, but with an auto and drag shocks I was maxed out at that speed. You can actually see the car floating in the video, slightly more dramatic in person.
Between bumps in the road and 90* turns it was fun, not quit like 90 miles around watkins glen though. We did it for fun and to torture test our supercharger kit. After 90 miles 150 feels like 55 though, but without a manual car degeared and a full scca cage I would not go do it again I think. Like I said in the video "not fast enough", but red line or near it for 90 miles proved what we wanted to prove. No other supercharger kit made for a corvette has been more thouroughly tested then the ecs kit imho.
It was a rare experience for someone on the east coast and a lot of fun.

1.1 mile straight away? I prefer 90 miles at near red line the entire time.

Doug, pretty cool run there. Im only planning on a few hot laps then cool down laps etc.... I am running e85 so that will help with cooling. Im also running a different bumper that will allow a lot more air to the rad. I have upgraded the whole drivetrain so Im feeling confident in the car.
