Mantic Clutch Review
I'm posting this here because most of the high power car owners frequent this forum.
I just finished the install on a new Mantic Twin Disk Clutch from ECS, and wanted to share my thoughts. My car makes right at 750rwhp, and I've been through two Spec 3+ clutches in about 20,000 miles. I had gotten to the point where I didn't enjoy my car anymore because the clutch pedal was so stiff, and the engagement so poor. I had been reluctant to spend a lot of money on a clutch because no one seems to have a definitive answer on which clutch is best. I called Chris at ECS and told him about the car, and the problems with the Spec clutch. He recommended the Mantic Twin Disk, and said it drives nearly stock like, but will hold lots of power.
The clutch comes packaged very well, and appears to be made from high quality materials. The install was uneventful, but I did learn to leave the pressure plate somewhat loose, then put the torque tube back in, and use it to align the plates before tightening the pressure plate bolts.
I'm hear to tell you the clutch is as advertised. It exceeded my expectations, and does drive very similar to stock. I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase, and my car is enjoyable to drive again.

I'm running a stock 2001 master cylinder with 81,000 miles. I did bleed the entire system with fresh fluid. Still works fine.

Good to hear so many good reviews. I currently rock a McLeod RXT and very happy with it. IF i get to a point that I need another I may go this route. Wonder if anyone has any comparisons between teh RXT and teh Mantis?

I have the Mantic single disc and i also came from a Spec 3+ so i can relate...such an amazing clutch! real smooth engagement and can handle 500rwhp with ease.
