Like I mentioned to you before, I saw the same thing with my bike. Running a light spring in the gate and using the controller is great for traction but makes the turbo lazy.. The fix is to add a CO2 system to the boost controller. It will almost instantly hit target boost, without waiting for manifold pressure to build, then you can still use the controller to limit peak boost or use your ramps etc.

The cheaper method is to run at least a 10lb spring in the gate... It will help it spool much quicker.. However, your traction will likely get worse in 1st.

I figure you have 2 tenths left in your 60', 2-3 mph left in it, plus if you turn the boost up some more...

I could see 9.40-9.50@155 on a clean pass with quicker spool/shifting.

BTW, the DA was +313' at the time of your 151 pass. Earlier that morning, you had -700' so that's another 1 mph gain if you can run in that -700 air..

Ofcourse getting ALL of this stuff together in the same pass is the hard part.. Pretty much ideal track conditions yestersday for down here.

Congrats again Bem. I meant to ask you on your thoughts on your 6060 swap and how it feels.

I agree with what you are saying Alan. I ordered a c02 bottle kit and it will be here on Friday. I'll be setting it up this weekend. The no-lift wot box will be here for Christmas. The track conditions were ideal, but given the issues that I had and the slower boost response, I'm happy with the initial results. I think the car would have went 9.50 - 9.60 on the pass that it went into REP mode. That was the best initial launch I have ever had.

I'm happy with the 6060, no complaints. From a design standpoint, it should hold up better than the MN6. It seems easier to shift and just has an overall better feel. I just need to get back into the practice of shifting. It would have been nice to have a corvette daily for the last 2 years and I wouldn't have to re-train.

Yes overall, the build is solid and will go faster very soon. I'm happy with the results after reviewing the data.

I wish you could have made it too. When are you planning to hit the track?

Thanks. Agree, it would have turned some good times this weekend with an auto. I'm not interested in everything that goes along with making the swap, but I think it will still go low 9s with the 6-speed once everything gets lined out.

Which class are you going to do? Street Racer looks interesting. I've always liked those type of classes with a required street cruise.

yea, a buddy and i are both doing street race. from what ive gathered most of those cars are in the low 9s high 8s but i could be wrong. kris is doing the build on my buddies car which is a 416, F1X, 4l60, in a 07 Z06. if you really want to run this event you can break the drive up in two days. el paso is mid point so let me know.

Thanks. Do you have a roll bar in your car or know what type of safety equipment they are going to require at this event?

Good deal. Hopefully they are ok with not having one. I'm considering one, but not sure if it will be done before February.

Have you weighed your car lately? I think mine picked up over 80lbs on this build. It weighed 3530 at the track on Sunday with me and a full tank of gas.

I have a Leash Electronics controller that will work with CO2. I purchased the Biondo kit from Summit with a 10 oz bottle and dual gauge regulator. I only need the co2 for the track right now so 10oz should work out. I'll keep a 2nd bottle on hand as a back-up.

Mine is 3670lbs on the same scale you were on when my stock C5Z wheels are on. Right at 3600lbs on the CCWs. Me in it.. (185lbs)

Mine is a fat pig.

Chromoly 6 OT adds another 75lbs for you.

I got everything sorted out for using CO2 this weekend. It is functioning properly and will be tested on the street when the roads dry up.
