Welded lips on both ends and soldered in the IAT pigtail. Now I just need some more plastic to build a shroud that fits better and paint the pipe. It'll look like a CAI when I'm done if I do it right

Well bad news on this thread. About a year ago when I first got the car together I had an oops moment out tuning when the stock airbridge split. Ever since then I've been having blow by at idle etc. Car still runs fine just way too much blowby. Went to the dyno today and it's down on power quite a bit. I'll be doing a compression test and leak down this weekend. Thankfully I have a 5.3 i'm putting together right now should be done soon....

Sorry to hear, at least you have a backup though.

It's all good, I already knew it was hurt, just been in denial really lol. That's why I picked up that junkyard aluminum 5.3. It's getting gen 4 flat top pistons and rods and I'll be opening up the ring gap a bit to keep it healthy. Just waiting for the rotating assembly to come back from balancing so I can put it together.

Nice. Aluminum 5.3s aren't super common. Good find.

You're making it look easy, what's planned for this rev?

Thanks. Better flowing manifolds, repositioning passenger side turbo and new routing for the intakes.

Looking forward to the results. Are you expecting to see more power? Which turbos are you using?

I'm running the same turbos as before. T3/t04e 50 trim. I'm fuel system limited to about 700whp and that's about as far as the turbos will go too. I just want to make the system more efficient and reliable to maximize what I have and give some room to grow later.

Jim, do you know what the hotside is on the turbos (wheel size and housing A/R)? They should spool great with a 5.3 and be fun to drive I bet. I've seen 400-500whp on a small 4 cylinder on good fuel on old school 50 trims.

Manifold looks nice, using 304 this time?

A/R is .63. I don't recall the wheel size off hand. They spool very fast, the car is a blast on the street. MVP can attest to that.

After discussing it with Jon, I opted for 321.

It's gonna be a good year! Big thanks to MVP for the badass shortblock work and blownbluez06 for the c6z tr6060 setup. Should be ready before TX2K. Hopefully I'll have the new manifolds and charge piping completed by then too. If not the old kit will have to work.

yes, because the maf sensor was reading all that airflow that wasn't making it into the manifold the car went very rich and litterally stalled the motor at WOT at the top of 4th gear.

Looking nice! Should be a blast to drive. My current build also includes a c6z tr6060 swap. Not that I am doing the work.
