yeah, it's pretty unnerving the first time you hear it. I thought I blew out a vband or something.
Not enough room for a muffler in my setup. Routing them into the DP is easy though.
Ease of access mostly. I never really wanted them to go over the radiator. When I do the new shroud it'll make more sense. Trying to fit the intakes and the charge pipe through a shroud that seals on the sides would've been a huge PITA. My original goal was to keep both the charge piping and the intakes between the frame rails and run them over the stearing rack and into the front bumper. The abs module and power stearing pump made it too difficult to get all the piping through though.
I fully agree, but as mine isnt a daily I decided I'd live with it.
That said, I did DIY fab some small mufflers to try and dampen the noise a little from some aluminium tube for an outer shell and some 2" perforated tube for the inner.. Not really sure how much it quietened them though lol, they were only about 5" long.

Long term, and for a quiet daily, routing them back into the exhaust makes the most sense.
When I built my turbo setup...for most part I was too lazy to do it as vent to atmos was just easier. I've learnt to live with it as is though.

the noise deflect off the ground, and resonate back into the cabin, turns your car into a speaker basically. divert them away from the car. from the driver seat, dumps will always be louder than a hood/fender exit exhaust setup.

Loving the shroud. I've made some progress on my new radiator cradle so I'll be sending you some pics here shortly.

I love that! I'm actually gonna make a .dxf for this in CAD though so next time it can be routered.
Thanks! Looking forward to the pics.

There has been some great fabwork and innovation on this build.
Is boost control acceptable with the gate on the turbine housings?
Remind me, did you go T3 or T4 flange?
I noticed the roll bar. What brand is it and do you have some track outings planned?

Boost control has been perfect. I've only run it off the 5lb springs so far and it hits 5lbs and holds. We'll see what happens when I turn it up. I'm gonna put in 10lb springs prior to that.
T3 flanges.
It's a wolfe racecraft 6pt bolt in. I'm planning a track visit the very first weekend after I get a couple things lined out.

Well I started tearing it down to put the new lifters in and fix a couple exhaust leaks. When I pulled the manifolds I found the ceramic coating chipping off, so I sent them back to be recoated. I added some flex pipes to the downpipes so there wouldn't be any stress when bolted up. I also picked up some cheap ebay pieces and build a vacuum manifold. Car should be back together and running tomorrow.

Rollbar install: interior out, bars in.
Lined up, bolted up.
Shampooed and cleaned all interior pieces.
Trimmed the bolts and installed the interior.
Not she's legal.

Dealing with under hood temp issues. Mostly fuel boiling in the lines and rails causing lots of transient throttle issues.
First step insulate the fuel lines with insulation sleeves and reflective aluminum tape.
Next step, vent the hood.
Just need to glue them down now. Trying to figure out what makes the best bond between abs and fiberglass.

I think it's safe to say, even if the rails were dead ended, the chances of the fuel boiling in there causing problems is almost zero. Especially given the pressure inside the rails.

The fuel lines and rail were so hot you couldn't touch them. When I would prime the pump after running, you could hear the return fuel reacting to the cooler intank fuel. The car also kept pulling fuel in the tip in region and the longer it ran the more positive the trims would go. If it wasn't boiling in the rail, it was definitely evaporating coming out of the injector.

thought so lol... I had been looking at the carbon apr vents, they make them for mustangs and the others are universal... do you happen to have the length and width of those?... apr doesn't list the measurements of the mustang vents since they are direct replacements

I'll measure them for you.
