Default Finally went to a 1/4 mile track

Well I was invited to a private track rental (Nascar night) at Zmax dragway which is 20 min from my house. So of course I took the car out for some test passes. I knew the track wouldnt be very good from past experiences and it wasnt LOL.

First pass I put the same tune up in it that gets me 5.7@121+ 1/8 times and it immediately blew the tires off when boost came in off the trans brake then again after hitting boost again. Pedaled the car and ran 10.0@148.

Since the track was terrible it gave me the chance to play with the boost controller (Leash boost controller) and try to get a setting for a slick track. I ditched the trans brake and set my launch psi to 2psi and ramped it up to 12psi after 1 second into the run. It worked very well but still spun a little when boost came in, but it went a 9.2@150.

Kurt Busch was there testing a Haas Racing Copo Camaro and my dad politely asked him for a little grudge run and he agreed. We flip for lane choice and he picks left lane which was better lane of course so I hurry up and change boost setting one final time to a slower ramp rate at the same time frame of 1 second into the run. IT WORKED footbraked the car to a 5.9@120 and a 9.1@151 (he went 9.6 btw ). We shook hands and laughed about it afterwards so it was a good friendly race.

With that said I was hoping to get my 8 second pass and didnt...but I know the car will runs 8's for a fact as my best pass was still 2-3 tenths off from my typical 330' and 660' times.

I LOVE this car its been a blast so far and cant wait to get it on a WELL prepped track to see what it can really do. Especially since I'm not making any "big power" so I have to make my time up at the beginning of the track.

Videos are coming
Sorry for the long read.....

Awesome run man. Shes making some power to run 9.1 at 151. You have a nice combo. Keep at it and i'm sure you will see 8's soon

The fact that you ran a 9.1 is awesome. But that you did it against Kurt Busch is too cool. Sounds like he was a nice guy.

Absolutely....Yeah he was cool about it. We nicknamed my dad Big Chief after that because he was back and forth trying to set the race up LOL

Congrats Shoaf85!

That car is gonna FLY on a good track with some boost in it.... With just your regular 60' alone it would have gone high 8.80s that day.

I can't wait to see it on 20 psi...

Yea I definitely gotta work on the vids. My hd camera died just after burnout and then the contour footage (car mounted) lost a ton of quality after editing it on PC. I'm a noob to that stuff lol
