Shakedown passes with the ECS Novi 2k, version 2! New best!
I got the chance Thursday night to take my 2003 Z06 back to the track for some more shakedown passes. This was only my second time out with the blower setup so I'm still doing some tuning and getting it dialed in. To recap, my first time out it ran a best of 6.63 @ 103 on a 1.50 60'. I knew there was room for improvement because it had no timing in it due to 150 degree IAT's. Doug at ECS mentioned these were normal IAT's for no methanol injection, so I tweaked my IAT table this time out.
First pass, I tried stalling up the torque converter for my launch... didn't work. I spun off the line and messed up the pass.
2nd pass, I went back to leaving just off idle. Spun just a slight bit on launch (mid 1.5 60') and got a 6.57 @ 107. I wasn't sure I was going to do much better than that because typically the track goes downhill the later it gets.
3rd pass, left just off idle again and nailed a 1.47 60' on my way to a 6.47 @ 108! New best!! By this point, it was getting late, so I immediately pulled back around for a hot lap. I NEVER even shut the car off and pulled around for my next pass. Backed it up with a 6.49 @ 107. Density altitude was 1300-1400' btw.
This car is so well mannered and easy to drive, I love this setup. Hopefully I'll be able to go to the track on a Saturday where the prep is even better and I'll be able to get a lot of back to back passes in for further tuning. I think the car definitely has some 6.30's in it before turning up the boost a bit more (still has restrictor plate in place).
In car camera (be sure to turn up volume, the commentary from the announcer is funny):
From the stands:

Yeah that announcer sounds like he enjoys himself out there. You're knocking on that 9 second 1/4 mile pass for sure. With a well prepped track it would probably do it not to mention when you turn the boost up a little. Congrats man
I'm in Concord NC and have heard of Greer just never been there before.

Getting there
Next time in the water box, start in 1st, hit 2nd, after about 2 seconds of white smoke release your line lock & spin out of the water box, lift when tires start biting.

Definitely try this I was thinking same thing. You might be bringing a little water to the line with you since your stopping the burnout at the water.

Congrats man!!
6.47 is around a 10.teen.. So you are on your way to 9s.. Keep making passes and changing minor things. That car has 9s easy with the power you have..
Work on getting it to hook..

Thanks all! Can't wait to get back out this week and try for another new best.
Greer is a pretty good IHRA track. They got a brand new surface a few years ago and on a Saturday it is WELL prepped. Usually if I want to get lots of passes for test/tune, it is best to go on a Saturday. You can pretty much run back to back with little to no waiting. The other track I go to is Shadyside in NC (Shelby area) but it's not as good of a track.
I used to do that, but there's differing opinions on that. No problem to try that technique again though, it is more fun that way
It did hook on the last 2 passes (1.47 60's) so I'm not sure how much more 60' improvement I can get with this converter. Will keep working on it.
Looking at my logs, it was closing the throttle on my 1-2 shift, which I could definitely feel at the track, so I'll fix that and see how it does.
I also have some Hoosier 315 DR's I could try out, but not sure if they will hook as good. They are 25.xx" tall so it would give me a little better gearing if they work. I'm going through the traps at 5700 right now.
How much timing is everyone running with similar setups?

Backed up and tied my best from last week. Went to make a second pass and someone had dripped water all down the lane I was in, so my launch went up in smoke. Had to let out of it and didn't bother getting back in line since it was already late. Will try again Saturday and work on getting the throttle to stay open on the 1-2 shift. May also try my 315 Hoosiers (25.xx") as well.
Anyway, a little nicer video this time:
