M/T Et Street S/S...
has anyone tried these out yet in a 305/35/19?... apparently they are replacing the et street 2 but other than that I haven't been able to find much info on them... I will be needing some new rear tires soon and I'm trying to decide on more nt05r's or trying these out... the nt05r's have done great for me and are roughly $100 cheaper each tire so that is a plus but if the m/t is a much better tire then I don't mind paying more... they will be used year round and on the car 100% of the time... my car is only driven in nice weather so it won't see rain unless it comes unexpectedly, mainly street driven with the hard driving mostly being highway runs, and might see the track once a year... so I need a better tire for the street and not necessarily the track... the nt05r's actually handle pretty well which I like since I will take an occasional hard corner and they have never felt unstable at any speeds I've had the car up to which is one concern I would have with the m/t's

Considering your circumstances, I think the NT05R or R888 would be the best option. You may not dead hook 1st, but you can pedal it some and they'll last a lot longer.

had r888's and they didn't quite have the traction I wanted, the nt05r hooked up much better on my car and driving style... in that case I will probably end up sticking with the nt05r... maybe I was just looking for an excuse to try something else, you know how that goes

I'm in the same boat as you Neutron. I like my 305/35/19 NT05R's for all around performance but the new mickeys caught my eye. I was on an airport runway this past weekend for a 1/2 mile event and they did pretty good. I'm sure I will keep the NT05R's and maybe get a spare 17 or 18 set for some serious business shoes.
I normally run 27 psi (cold) on the street. you?

I'll be getting the S/S in either the 305/35-19 or 325/30-19 in the nearish future. Still deciding which size.

I run them at 28psi, about the same as you... were you doing roll racing on the runway or was it from a dig?... in a roll race they hook up for me pretty good from 2nd gear on, 1st is a wash if you try to nail it but that's probably unavoidable with any radial and like I said I have no intentions of putting a drag tire on the car... my gut is telling me to stick with the nt05r's since I know they work and what to expect from them

... I would spin from a 20 roll but 40-50 I could probably manage, one of these days I will get out there and do one of these events... I actually have a tr6060 swap that's been in my garage for quite some time now lol, I am wanting to have the trans beefed up before it goes in and I am debating keeping the z06 gearing, adding a 5th/6th from a zr1, or getting all zr1 gears... would love to put a quaife in the rear but that will have to wait

If you are 800+ Hp I would do the ZR1 Gearing. The C6 Z06 gearing is nice as well. Keeps you in the gear and boost quite a bit longer than the MN12...

I bet you would... zr1 gearing would probably be best, longer 1st-3rd, 4th is the same as the z06, and shorter 5th/6th for better acceleration... trying to get in touch with the guy that's going to build it for me and hopefully dropping that off this weekend and I will see what he says about the cost to do all of that... his labor is really fair, most of the cost is from parts and new gears probably aren't very cheap

I don't believe they are actually out yet. I just ordered the ET street II's because the SS weren't out in the size I wanted (305/35/18) idk if certain sizes are out or none, but I was told the 305/35/18 SS wouldn't ship until end of October and that's the earliest nationwide.
I also called Mickey Thompson and asked about the difference and the rep said the SS will be the same dry traction as the ET street II but with better wet traction. The SS was I believe 10 bucks cheaper when I looked compared to the ET street II.

The S/S is out, and really the only different between them and the Street II is the S/S will fair better in bad weather. Same compound, I have the Street II, and on a concrete runway I dead hooked in 1st, and throughout all the gears varying HP from 800-1000rwhp.
Love the Mickey's.

The C6Z tops out (198) in 5th while the ZR1 does (200+) in 6th correct?

But yeah, just better wet traction and should hook and be the same as the ET street II in dry weather.

stock drivetrain/gearing is in the car right now, the 6060 swap is from a 2010 z06... I know it's making enough power to do 200+ so I'd like to set the drivetrain up to allow it to do so if I ever felt the itch to take it up that high... I know the mickey's would probably get better traction but my main concern is in the handling dept, I don't want to take a hard corner and they let loose on me or feel unstable on the street at high speeds... car isn't driven in wet weather so I don't really worry about the wet traction

^stick with the nittos. I had the MT 2's in a different size and they do hook better but don't handle as well. The 05R is a good balance. As for 200+ In a controlled environment sounds like fun however I noticed the nose starts to get a bit light around 170 so be careful.

I'll be needing new tires all around and my driving is only in nice weather and weekends. I plan to get a 2nd set of wheel and tires for the track which may be once in awhile. Just curious what kind of mileage you get out of the NT05's? I've read that the Hankook Venus tires are a great all around tire for the money. Like to get some of your opinions, car is pushing 600+rwhp. Do most of you guys only run the Nitto's on the back?

Appreciate the input and good point on the traction. How is the ride with the invo's on the front and 05r's on the back? The invo's have a great traction rating as well. Anyone have experience with using them at the rear?
