Anybody know if the Z-Pac 3-4 clutch plates would work in the smart tech drum?

You could use any friction and steel combo, just need to get the stackup right so it has a .030-.050 clearance under the top plate.

The Sonnax product info says> Increased 3-4 clutch capacity will accept either:

Eight .067" frictions with seven .095" steels
Nine .062" frictions with eight .077" steels

PATC offers the drum with these stackups:
Alto Red Eagle
9 frictions @ .060"
7 Kolene steels @ .078"
1 Kolene steel @ .106"

Raybestos Blue Plates
9 frictions .063"
8 steels .078"

Chris, what are you controlling your tranny with? What WOT shift points are you using. I use the FAST/TCI controller and am using 5600 right now to go to 2nd and 3rd to keep the boost from maxing out on the shifts. Still experimenting but haven't kept a tranny alive long enough to get it nailed down.

My trans is controlled by the stock computer. These shifts are setup for 28" tall tires.

1>2 37mph/6000rpm
2>3 73mph/6000rpm

This is actually some really good news to me.... Chris is using those parts from Trutech. That's the exact same parts and place that I bought my Level 4 rebuild kit from a couple of years ago and had local shop install (same trans shop that Farmtruck uses !). I told the shop owner to use those Trutech parts plus he had carte blanche to do whatever he wanted to also make that 4L60e solid. So far so good. I'm really liking the Raybestos blue plates. The trans has been thru the H/C/I stage where I was at 430/395, then the supercharger added which was 580/580. Has held up very well so far but the real test is coming very soon. Broke a ring land so moving to a forged 418 LS3 where I'll be making 750rwhp. I'll find out how good the Trutech stuff is after that. Love this thread.
