Any reason not to run straight meth?
Ok guys I'm hoping to dyno my car next week it's 383ci 9:5 comp
PT88 Single turbo we only have 91 octane around here so I ordered Alky dual nozzles meth kit from Bret BLOWNBLUEZ06
So I'm planning to run 15-17psi 91octane and run straight meth not water mixed.
somewhere between 15-18 timing / 10.9-11.2 A/F Ratio.
Any issues or is it better for cooling/power ?
Thanks guys.

100% here as well... whatever you can find at race shops or hobby stores is fine since you aren't using it as a primary fuel... I get mine at a local race shop for about $3-3.50 a gallon and fill up a couple of 5 gallon jugs, it's quite a bit cheaper than buying vp stuff online

While some will argue that water has "higher latent heat evaporation" and "infinite octane", I recommend 100% meth. Julio, the owner of Alky Control recommends the same. The reason and logic behind it is simple. Water has infinite octane? Ok, that's fine, but so what? It doesn't burn, so that's a given and to me a moot point.
Water has the highest latent heat evaporation of any liquid. Great! How come we don't use it inside our automotive A/C systems? Especially since the latent heat evaporation of R-11 refrigerant is the lowest on the chart that I'm looking at and less than 1/10 that of water. The reason is simple. What has to happen for water to be effective in it's latent heat of evaporation process?
Plagiarized from the engineering toolbox:
"The input energy required to change the state from liquid to vapor at constant temperature is called the latent heat of vaporization. When a liquid vaporize at the normal boiling point the temperature of the liquid will not rise beyond the temperature of the boiling point"
The answer is: It has to change phase from a liquid to a gas. You want a liquid that won't displace oxygen and will change phase easily so that it will remove heat in the short time it takes to travel from the point of injection to the combustion chamber and methanol does this more effectively.
Just my .02 on the subject.
