My YSI is maxed out and i am thinking of going with a procharger F1X.
It would be great if i could still use my 10 rib vortech parts...A&A system and just buy a bigger head unit?
Do you think vortech will be making a similar head unit?

I asked Vortech many many times for an upgrade to the YSI, they always said no too.
Eventually the huge XB110 came out and I asked for something in between, say a V7 XB105...they said no. I had asked for years for a billet impeller for the YSi, eventually this appeared....and seems to largely be a damp squid.
So I changed to turbos instead.

Or as Cammin says, the V4's can fit the same brackets even if they also have provision for another row of bolts. Although it may not apply to all bracket systems.
I just couldnt bring myself to spend all that money on yet another ancient cast wheel blower even if it probably would have performed great.
I nearly bought one second hand though...but opted for turbos instead

cast 13.6
billet 15.9
51,129 imp rpm
8,300 rpm at trap
cast 32.2
billet 38.3
81,609 imp rpm

That's the thing, the post above just implied a boost gain, as do some other threads.
Few actually seem to report any power or performance gain.
Certainly not what would have been hoped..and certainly makes it difficult to justify swapping.
Something like a V7 XB105 would be a perfect upgrade and could be physically a lot smaller than the 110.
I don't even think I've seen any reports of anyone using a 110 either though ?

that same guy also picked up .29 seconds with no other changes, not even tuning

To really gain to close to the max that the F1X will do I hope you have a good cam to get the cost over the YSI. I went from a 402ci ls2 block YSI set up. To a RHS 427ci set up with about the same cam also went from a TF 225 head to a TF 245 head and didn't gain the cost of every thing at all.
But I did like the way the F1X came in on the car over the YSI. F1X comes in higher up in the RPM range plus a lot harder when it did.
I was told it was my cam holding the car back just wasn't big enough to get the FULL out of the F1X head unit.. Robert
