Drilling IAT into intake - advice?
Before I dive into this and risk screwing anything up, lend me your advice.
I have a FAST 92 installed, will be installing meth nozzle ahead of the TB, and want to place the IAT into the top of the intake. I did order the borg warner WT382 piece and dongle.
What size drill bit should I use? Do I snug the sensor directly to the intake? If there is a grommet to be used, what part or part number is correct? What's best to seal it all in?
The fear of screwing up my intake is oddly high.

are you opposed to putting it into charge pipe?... I put mine in the bottom of the pipe just before the throttle body so you really don't even see it and I drilled the hole slightly smaller than the sensor threads then just threaded it in with a socket and used a bead of jb weld to seal it up on the outside... that has worked fine for me and you can easily remove the sensor if you have to, the jb weld will peel off after you remove the sensor

that's true, a welded bung in the charge pipe would be even cleaner and easier to remove the sensor than what I suggested... if you go that route just make sure the bung isn't so deep that the sensor won't have a direct path to the incoming air charge... I just wouldn't suggest putting it into your intake because if you decide to sell it some people may not be interested in it anymore or you might not be able to get as much for it... not to mention fast intakes aren't the strongest anyway so I personally wouldn't want to decrease the integrity of it and potentially cause it to crack

All good info.
However, I am running meth injection and maf.
So I go FMIC, 60 degree pipe, LS7 blade style maf, 4" length of tube (half of which is the lip for the maf and tb, then tb.
I think my only option is the intake, right? Can't be spraying meth into the tube in front of the maf. And I need some space before the IAT from the meth nozzle.
Here's the intake system mocked up.

I had the same issue with my steup.Running a maf and meth.
I drill and tap my ls6 intake just behind the throttle body.
The main issue was that there wasnt enough thickness to provide a strong thread.So i filled the cavity behind the tb with some epoxy(about 3/8 inch) and then did the 3/8 npt thread needed for the sensor.
Sensor is solid,fully sealed and i can take it off and put it back easily.
Heres some pics.Dont pay attention to the gorilla in the last pics, just look at the sensor and how clean it ended up.

Looks like a happy gorilla installing a new cam.
Am I right in thinking you used the epoxy to back fill the area UP from the hole? It looks like epoxy on top and then the plastic on the intake.

Thought I'd start with the epoxy. Went with one with high strength and black finish. Will let it cure overnight, then drill tomorrow.

me too, just make sure the IAT is pretty deep into the intake path. i had one before from previous shop that didn't get the IAT sensor real far into the intake path and it was very lazy and did not react well at all when I was reading IATs real time with dashlogic

Yup i sand the intake to get the best grip possible and put some epoxy to add around 3/8".I let it cure 48 hours because i wanted to be sure everything was done the right way.To finish i drill and tap the intake
