FI or Heads/Cam?
Looking to add some power to my 03 Convertible....would like to have 450-500 rwhp when things are done....some actual acceleration when I put the hammer down...my DD is a 2016 Charger Scat Pack....
I currently have Stance Coilovers, Bullet B&B Exhaust...C6 Z51 sway bars w/ metal end links and new brake setup....CCW SP550's 19/20 w/ 275 front and 305 rear....
What would be a more reliable way to go? My fear is going FI and than needing a new clutch, trans etc. etc.....before I know it I'm in for $15k plus....
Car currently has just over 26,000 miles on her.
Appreciate the feedback!!

Doesnt matter if youre fi or na, drivetrain parts will wear or break the same.
You want reliability? Get a A&A Corvette V3 kit, bolt it on and youre done. Youll easily get the power levels youre looking for and you wont have to touch anything else really to get there. Unless youre always drag racing launching on slicks youll be fine.

Melting Slicks
I agree with above. Might want to plan for a clutch tho and maybe a radiator. My car A&A kit, headers and cam my stock clutch would slip on aggresive up shifts. My car was low 20k miles when kit went in and stock clutch didn't like the power at all. The stock radiator also wasnt up to task in traffic keeping it cool.
Good luck

I'll add, I am at 800+ rwhp, has taken much money and time to get everything right, some blame goes to first builder and myself. Anyway, looking back over everything if I had to do over I would have a big inch Na engine built like I originally thought about. Idk how close heads and cam would put home to 500rwhp, but the true hassle of a blower wouldn't be worth it to me at that power level.

A&A kit all day will make 500-550 rwhp with ease and be very reliable and still within the window we like to run with stock drivetrain. Especially if you are just wanting a fun street car. Give us a call to discuss in more detail.

I did H/C/FAST, and the clutch was toast. I never race, but even one run to redline would flatline (so to speak) the clutch pedal. Later, added an A&A V3si, and shattered my diff first time I ran it full throttle, and shifted to third hard. So, be prepared.

I make just shy of 500whp with H/C/I ....and sometime I wish I just did FI instead... BUT, the sound...haha EVERYTIME I go to the track, people comment and video - EVERYTIME. 7000 rpm and LT's and straight pipes just SING down the front straights. haha
BUT, bang for the buck, after about 420-440hp, is won by FI. H/C/I are great, but they plateau quickly for bang for the buck.
LOL you will blow by $15k before you know it. Hell, you've already past it I bet! Clutch will have to happen no matter what after about 425whp, and then a diff and trans is all up to you and your right foot. Mine is all stock and no plans to replace either - but I dont ever launch the car hard...ever.
PM me if you want and I can help you piece together something H/C/I that will be fun, drivable, AND most importantly, come in UNDER budget. Done just a few motors - NA are easy, compounding turbos is the only time things get tough.

If you want to take it out and beat on it at HPDEs or track time do H/C/I + n2o. If you don't just go the centri route. The A&A kits will make 600rwhp easy but you'll need a new clutch. Trans will be fine but you might want to do a trans brace.
