Default Whats a good 19" rear tire??

Hey guys, it's about time to order some rear tires, so thought I would check and see what you all would recommend for a 650rwhp car. I don't go to the track, so it's strictly street use. I am currently running 19x12 grandsport wheels with 305/30/19 pirelli p zero. I am lowered on west coast corvette lowering bolts. The problem I'm running into, is that I can't find a drag/street tire in the 305/30. I see nitto nt05, MT ET streets, etc in 305/35. I think these will be too high for me. Is anybody running a 305/35/19 on a lowered car with aftermarket bolts?

I am running the Nitto NT05R in the 305/35-19 on my 03Z on coil overs. It sits every bit as low as yours with no issues. 550 on spray and they hook better than anything else I have used.

Any pics of them on your car? This is when I had 325/30/19 on the rear. The 305/35 is taller than the 325/30, but should stretch out to accompany the 12" wide wheel. I think it will be ok. I changed from the 325 because I was worried I would crack the fender on a dip, since the tires stuck out some.

From research, I've found we only have two choices, if you want to change your wheels. I don't, and think you shouldn't change a thing about how your car looks. Mickey Thompson also makes the SS in 305-35/19, and they're supposed to be good, too.

I'm running 305 35 19 nt05r tires, making 700whp. Haven't dug into them yet but will be soon, maybe today. Will chime back in after testing traction.

I'm running the 305/35/19 NT05R as well and they hook surprisingly well. I'm a little over 700 hp. Lowered on stock bolts...had to remove brake ducts.

Thanks guys! I have looked at the nitto nt05 and the MT ET streets. I do take occasional trips, so Im needing a tire to also be OK in occasional rain if I get caught out in it. Tommypenguin, are you lowered on aftermarket bolts with the nittos?

nt05r's will work great at your power level... the et street s/s is also a good tire, I have ran both in 305/35/19 and currently have the s/s on the car now... the nt05r's handle a bit better but the s/s gets a bit better traction so it's a trade off but I can already tell the s/s will not last as long... the only tire I know of in a 305/30/19 that will get any power down is the r888 and I didn't like those near as much as the nt05r or s/s... they are better than any other non drag radial but are more focused for corners, they have super stiff sidewalls!... I'm lowered on coilovers and none of the above tires rubs under normal driving conditions, they will likely rub the liners if you strap the car down on a dyno though

I'm running stock bolts as low as I can go.

NT05R is a great balance. They have lasted me about 10k miles and are pretty cheap in comparison to most. I think I paid $235 each online. $550ish total shipped for a set that lasts about 2 years is a bargain (assuming you are not at the track doing burnouts often) They will certainly last longer than the mickey as well but will give up a hair of traction.

I'm lowered all the way on stock bolts with C6Z shocks

I'm at 840 rwhp, running hankook ventus r-s3 version 2 and highly recommend them, they hook very good.

You sure you've got 19" rears? I looked at those, and they didn't list any 19" sizes.

Thanks! However, they're twice the price of Nitto 05Rs. Honestly, I like the 35 aspect ratio for it's taller sidewall, and both the MT, and Nitto are available in 305-35/19.

I have been able to do some further testing this week with my NT05R, I finally can go WOT in 1st and 2nd gear without slipping. Couldn't be happier with NT05R, had never bothered going WOT in 1st and 2nd previously when running Toyo T1R tires and the top of 3rd used to be dicey. No longer an issue.

Another vote for the Nitto NT05R. 305/35-19 and I'm at about 825-850 RWHP and they hook VERY well. Better than the 305/35-18 Mickey's ET Street II's did. I'm lowered on factory bolts so not quite as low as you but I'm also on a C6Z rear setup so my wheels are offset towards the rear and I still have TONS of clearance.
