Default Dyno - Stock vs ATI P1SC vs Magnuson on LS-1 C5 vs 62-1 Single Turbo on '01 LS6

I have been putting together some HP and torque tables of data and I thought some of you might be interested. The stock and ATI data was taken straight from my own dyno curves. The stock curves data comes from a curve generated at MTI, and the ATI data comes from a curve generated at Ed Wright Automotive (Fastchip). The Magnuson data was read froma dyno curve supplied by another CF member.

Based on these results what are the pros/cons of the ATI vs Magnuson?

I'd say that one of the pro's to the ATI is that it gobs more power than the Magnuson.

Thanks for taking the time to put together the numbers -- confirms what I had believed all along. That is part of why I went with ATI.:D:D

Sean, thanks for that comparison, very nice. I anticipated the ATI would see an advantage at higher rpms, but it surprised me a bit the Magnusson did not see a bigger advantage down low and more instantaneously.

I added some additional data in my original post that I found on the 62-1 Single Turbo set-up on a '01 LS-6 motor at 5 PSI and ran a comparison between it and the ATI P-1SC kit on the LS-1 at 7 PSI.

I agree, this is what I was looking for too. :yesnod: looks like the ATI unit is a good one.

I found that data too, but wanted to get a full curve before posting it as the T62 drops off after 5200 and the ATI keeps increasing until fuel cut.

Are the numbers you posted for a '01 or '02 Z06? The '01 and '02 Z06 LS6 has 35 and 55 more crank HP respectively than the LS1 that I posted the ATI numbers for, so subtract ~30 RWHP from your numbers if it was from a '01 LS6 and ~47 RWHP from your numbers if it was from a '02 LS6.

Also, I want to get a curve for an ATI with a D1SC on a Z06 and compare with the 62-1 data as the 62-1 data generated to date is on a Z06 / LS-6 and the ATI numbers I have are on a LS-1. I figured the LS1 with ATI @ 7 psi compared to a LS6 with 62-1 at 5 psi was not that far off from an apples to apples because of the offset between the stock HP engine numbers vs the 2 PSI of boost.

If anyone has full curves for:

1. Stock '01 or '02 LS6 with ATI D1SC and LT headers
2. Stock LS1 with ATI D1SC and LT headers
3. Stock '01 or '02 LS6 with 62-1 Single Turbo
4. Stock LS1 with Vortech kit and LT headers
5. Stock LS6 with Vortech kit and LT headers

PLEASE POST THEM!

Thanks

If these dyno numbers are not same day, same dyno, and same car they are pretty much useless. :nono:

TCSF - I think the Magnuson was putting out 5 PSI, but I am not 100% sure.

AV8TER - Thanks for the information. I will make another table comparing the '02 Z06 with ATI D-1SC and LT's with the 62-1 single turbo at 7 PSI if I can get a complete chart on the 62-1.

Devil Dog - It will be impossible to ever get dyno charts for all of these FI systems on the same car on the same day on the same dyno. I guess we'll never be able to compare different supercharged applications to one another and to turbo applications. I think most stock cars of the same make and model are within 2 - 3 % of one another in terms of HP. The fact that the dyno numbers are SAE corrected is the best we can do to take into account differences in temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, etc. I think is is reasonable to make these comparisons. How do you propose that the comparisons should be made?

As far as I know, this is the only full graph showing the 62-1 turbo going to redline, or at least beyond 5300 rpm,,,,not the first dyno but the second one below it

Good post.

Also consider the 62-1 at 8psi, 9psi, 10psi
as well as the T72 at 7,8,9,10+ shortly for higher rpm setups.

I would think that if the Magnuson was only putting out 5 PSI, versus 7 for the ATI, it is premature to come to any conclusions.

TCSF - Since the Magnuson is not intercooled, with the stock CR of the LS1 and LS6, I am not sure if you can safely run more than 5 PSI on pump gas. If you can run more boost, its not much.
