only thing is they have approximately ZERO stretch so if you are one of those guys who just crank on the belt super hard with a bar and call it done, i think you have to be more careful as no stretch to help save your stuff.

Haven't tried the RPM belt yet but get no slip from the exact same setup from a green belt or even a regular belt. The rpm may be better over the long run if it doesn't stretch. I guess time will tell.

Yeah that's the main thing I noticed. 2 months of driving and the belt is as tight as when I installed it. With the green belts I usually had to retighten them after a few hundred miles when they're new.

My pulley was frozen on so could not laser align it properly, so I got a turn one power steering pump with upgraded bearings designed for supercharger belt loads and working great so far.

I have an old gen one procharger bracket, have had fairly good success with it over the past 11 years.

Last year I switched to the Green belt and had no issues with it. This year for whatever reason, I started seeing belt slip issues. I found a size close to mine in the RPM series and Boom, issue gone!

Time will tell, but seems to be great so far.

Threw My belt today. I have had this car/setup for 11 years now, never threw a belt. Coincidence?? Or my car needed/liked slip before? Hmmm

Did the just the idler break or the whole bracket? I broke the bracket itself before I went with a direct drive setup. Common issue with C5's. Upgrading to a C6 bracket helps.

The bracket broke. Picked up ad 03+ bracket to replace it, and an ls2 ps pulley while I'm in there.

so you didnt cut off the bracket and install pulley as per instr.? just wondering.

and how did you notice the belt slip issue? watching boost, rubber dust or what?

so a weak theorie emerges: rpm belt snaps pulleys. first my ps, now your idler. anybody else?

ha, instructions??? I have a gen 1 pro charger setup that's been tweaked over the years.

I do not blame the belt, this is a known weak point. Was always a matter of time. The plastic ps pulley is also a known issue.

Re slip, power was down and I could see the boost gauge dropping at higher rpm. Wouldn't even hit previous boost levels.

I would just like to add for anyone with belt issues, that I have a D1SC procharger with A&A bracket, I was still getting belt slippage in the upper rpms only using a Micro V belt, so instead of going flip drive or spending tons on another setup, I wanted to try this last option. The gates RPM belt is made for supercharged applications.

I installed it broke it in some and gained about 3lbs of boost up top, which was never done on the previous belts and my setup is on 6 ribs and a 4.38 pulley. Boost guage is showing about 9lbs of boost in 88 degree weather. I am impressed with their belt and so far so good.

I ran a few of these RPM belts and they are hands down the best belts in my opinion. They hold power even better than the black gates belts but they last even longer than the green ones and one nice thing is they have ZERO stretch once hot so you don't have to reset the belt tension after installing a new belt like you have to do with other gates belts. Reliably made 907whp+ with a D1sc on an 8 rib A&A procharger bracket with old school tensioner, pump gas and methanol and velocity stack, so not even their new fancy/better setup and this is without any flip direct drive. just a straight 8 rib belt.

3.8" pulley = K060910RPM

Sharing what I learned from an extremely rapid call between doing five things here. I hope I didn't come off as rude!

Just found this thread, and recently heard about the Gates RPM belts. Luckily that had it in my size, and I've got it on the car now. Will hit the dyno in the next week or two with the "refreshed fresh motor" Any more feed back on this belt??
Thanks!!

Just gonna add my .02 on the RPM belt. I run one on my personal drag car. It has an A&A c5 bracket setup on it with a 8.1" lower pulley and a 3.3 upper pulley. It has a YSI-B on it and makes 1340 wheel hp through a powerglide trans and 9" rearend. We are seeing about 26 psi at 8600 rpm with an RPM 8 rib belt.

No question that this is the best belt on the market. Oh btw, we change the belt twice per year.

Do you guys go about tensioning any differently with these "stiffer" belts? I have 8 Rib A&A kit with the green "HD" belt currently.
