Default SC clutch recommendation

As you probably know I'm putting a Mags kit on soon. I already notice that my clutch is on the weak side and probably about burnt. I also already figured it wouldn't last long once the kit was in place. So, all of that said I was hoping to replace it later rather than sooner, but perhaps I had that figured backwards.

Recommend me a clutch that will have good street ability, but can handle 600 rwhp. My first thought was a stock C6 clutch, perhaps with a light flywheel.... Thoughts? Is there something else I should be considering?

LS7 blows. I roasted mine at 570hp in 2 passes. RXT is a good clutch.

As much of a bitch as it is to change clutches on C5s, get one better than you think you will need. I can recomend the RPS twin carbon.

I've been looking at those. They seem to have good reviews.

I agree with that. If cost were no factor that would be my first choice. It's out of my budget though. Right now I'm leaning toward Monster and Mcloud.

I have an RXT that I like now but have had my eye on a Monster LT1 for when the RXT throws the white flag

I have the Monster LT1-SC and it doesn't slip like the stock clutch at all. You'd probably want the LT1-S though which might slip better.

LT1-S drives pretty much like stock as you'd expect since it's basically a stock LT1 clutch w/custom flywheel. No complaints from me on it.

So, after more and more reading about the different ones and comparing prices I'm feeling the Monster lt1s. I doubt I end up making the kind of power that would require the sc. The Mantic is more than I care to spend, though it does sound nice. Any recommendations for where to get the best price on one? I was looking at potentiallygetting the kit from Tick that has the master, slave, etc... Anything else I should look into before pulling the trigger?

I just finished installing the LT1-S last weekend. I got it from Tick. Steve at Monster is very helpful and accessible. I did the kit with slave and 18 lb flywheel. No shim was required.

Mantic line is all we have installed for about 6 years now. I truly feel they are the most consistent in quality and performance of all the aftermarkets. That's because they really aren't an aftermarket company, Mantic is a branch of a huge OEM clutch manufacturer, the engineering and resources are simply hard to compete with.

Powering some of the fastest manuals on this board, yet drives near stock.
