800 stock block???
Anyone making over or around 800 on a stock ls1/ls6 block with forged stock sized internals with boost? If so how is the block holding up? and what supporting mods do you have for it?

There are plenty of LS guys at or above 800whp on stock dimensions using the OE block. There are even guys who have been over that power level on the OE block with OE internals. Just read the stickies in the Performance Results section and you can see all of the fastest/quickest C5's and their setups.

Combo went 9.96@145 which is well over 800rw

I recommend a good tune and new head bolts and gaskets if you want any chance at reliability.

Burning Brakes
The place that built my iron 6.0 motor (390cu) told me my identical shortblock has seen close to 1300 RWHP. Forged and ARP everything. It took 15lbs to make a single digit pass with a terrible 60 ft time.

I'm in the same boat as you and I think I'm either going to get a 408ci LQ9 or 402ci LS2. The shop I'm using recommended using a gen 4 block over a gen 3. They've had a lot of success with the 5.3L but since I run mine on the street I want more low end grunt.
I thought about just doing rods/pistons on my stock LS6 but it's not much more to just get a shortblock and keep the LS6 in case the new motor grenades.

Yeah, agreed. ECS has a car running 9.1's on the stock block with hundreds of passes. Definitely not something I'd recommend for the average Joe that is mitulous as Turbo Geist self tuning. 650 and enjoy. That aluminum block is not worth destroying if you're on a budget
That car actually has thousands of passes on it and is still going strong. Go figure!
Jay - 4DRUSH has ran 8.1 with a stock cube LS2 also.

Stock Gen3 engines are capable of 1000 hp easy. Head gaskets and tune is the key.
