Default Is this Normal? ECS Supercharger

Recently bought an '02 ECS Supercharged C5 convertible. Car runs great. Actually quite tame around town, but roars to life around 3500 rpm. When parked, engine running, if I stab the throttle, the engine seems like it hits a rev limiter around 3500-4000 rpm's. Feels like the supercharger is holding it back. While driving, under load, this phenomenon goes away and the car will easily run past this 4000 rpm threshold. Is this normal? BTW, when the supercharger blows off between gear shifts, it kind of sounds like "pigeons flying". Just curious to know if this is design intent. Thanks for the help. Jack

Factory tune has the rev limiter lower in neutral, could be that.

LOL. Maybe a better description would be that my Supercharger blowing off sounds like a huge blast of oxygen coming up from underwater. There is no "Hiss" or "whoosh" from the blow off valve. Does that make sense?

It is probably fine. Make a sound clip of it while driving and post it.
You don't happen to raise pigeons and SCUBA dive do you?
I think most guys would say theirs sounds like a bat out of Hell.

As long as the blow off valve is opening and venting pressure I wouldn't worry about what it sounds like.

Sounds like the BOV is not venting air sufficiently, or at all.

Is it open at idle ?

If you rev the car up stationary does the BOV discharge air when the revs are falling ?

BOV is bad. No air escaping at idle or when running up RPM's. Will be ordering a new Tial Q this weekend. Thanks for your help.
