Default Backwards supercharger impeller?

I just bought this v2 used for my c5 and it looks like it's a counter clockwise volute but the impeller looks like a clockwise. Is it possible the volute was changed by some dumb a$$ and it's actually a clockwise unit? From what I understand the thread direction on the impeller shaft dictates if it's clockwise or counter clockwise and not sure what direction threads should be for counter clockwise mine looks to be like normal thread direction.

Definitely looks like a cw impeller with a counter cw volute. i would send off to vortexh to see what else could be wrong with the unit.

Surely the Vortech ID tag would state ?

That also looks like some serious clearance between the impeller and volute ?

The volute isn't on all the way and impeller has some damage I'll attach some photos.

Tag has some Info but not trim type.

That wheel is not in good condition.

Where is the oil feed ? The oil jet will aim towards the meshing gears, so that will tell you what direction the housing had been set up for ( unless someone has changed it )

Oh yeah it's shot and on top of that it's a cw impeller on a ccw unit. How they messed that one up is beyond me.

The oil feed hole is there just not in that photo I'll sent a pic with the hole.

I had good luck with 928 motorsports for more cost effective rebuild on my V2. Plus their impeller is an upgrade to the S/T trims.

I seen that was thinking about going that direction. Did you see any hp gain? If I get the upgraded impeller will if fit the stock volute and I have the 3.6 pulley will I need to change that also? I have th v2 si trim.

Seat of the pants says most definitely more horsepower. But i havent had it on the dyno since the "upgrade". I am making 14 psi boost now, up about 1 psi. And im only using a 3.33" pulley (56k rpms). I could pulley down cause the ceramic bearings are good to 72k rpms.

Stock volute still works. Just talk to Carl. He is very knowledgeable and can tell you the difference between Si and their impeller.

I like the sound of that! Do they offer a rebuild service? I can do it myself but would rather have a pro do it just incase.

yes they rebuild as well. It's not much more if you buy their rebuild kit. It's a small amount for Peace of mind that it's done correctly.
