Stock ls1 coils for 1200-1400 rwhp?
I have stock ls1 coils at the moment and will be used in a 1200-1400 rwhp build with 20-30 lbs of boost..will these be ok or go to a OEM ls3 coil or a ING-1A type? Anybody running stock coils or have info using them at that power level?

I have 1999 stock ls1. I've ran 30 lbs no problem. I'm running 26 now still no problem and they are the original. From 99

Nope grab some high out put coils I have the red msd ones . You need a more reliant spark system !
Run your gap low .30-.26 ! Wires are a upgrade as well you will feel better inside good luck to ya !

My ls6 coil didn't like anything over 15psi, many folks had no problem running higher psi. I switched to truck coils D585 round ones with heat sink shield.

bought them for my truck because i jumped the gun & ordered them before confirming a couple of my wires were just intermittent. wasn't worth a 20% restocking fee to send them back.

LS1/6 coils will easily do 1k or thereabouts.
But coils are a fairly cheap upgrade, and the LS1/6 are at the lower end of the coils for all the OEM coils. SO either a more modern equivalent of the IGN's would be a sensible idea given the application.
