I found a gen 4 5.3 shortblock on CL for $150. What would be a better idea, build my ls1, or build the 5.3 and sell my running ls1 with heads and recoup some money?

small bore block is much stronger, but not needed below 1k hp according to most

those heads look really good

if your block is good, and you run those heads, you should be fine.

Moving right along, paid the car off today! Time to snowball a few more credit cards. Hope to start stockpiling parts around new years. I can't wait to use my new paychecks on toys and not bills.

I will never use a credit card again or take out another car loan.

Why not? I’ve been running a TSP stroker for the last 10.5 years with zero issues.

Moving right along. One more credit card to pay off. So far my wife and I have paid off the Corvette ($4,000) and $11,000 in credit cards! Pretty exciting for us. $3,000 more to go and I can start buying some car parts! Should be done paying everything off by the end of February and only started this thread in October.

Definitely put the best parts you can afford in there.

Some of the things to consider are your Fasteners.

try and make sure your rods hand ARP 2000 rod bolts instead of 8740

sams for the head studs. it’s also not a bad idea to have your crank checked for straightness.

not a bad idea to get a nice entry level 4340 forged crank either.

If you are interested in someone building your engine. Send us a message. We would be glad to help. We have plenty of various. Press on stock to build anything you want.

Had an incident about a month ago. Buddy lost control and hit a brick wall in the Vette. Had a get together to help my brother in law get it ready for paint this coming weekend. He's a top notch body man. Painting the whole car.

My nephew was helping out too. Youngster is quite the helper. Getting excited. Gonna buy some coilovers then I'll start with the engine parts. Gonna be nice building a car with a brand new paint job.

Mighty Mouse catch can, battery mount for the A&A blower? Or can it still fit on the head?

Alky control sizes. +M10 or +M15
Single M15 or 10???
Isnt single M15 a good size for 600ish whp, maybe 700?

How do you like the Jam Cam? Easy to tune? Im in AZ so the emissions are ok i guess.
I am really on the fence with the dewitts. I dont know what to do there yet. If i do itll be the tall version but im told the c6 fans are the ****.
