Mn6 vs MN12 vs t6060
I have a 01 z06. Going supercharger. I am going to build the trans this winter. Hope to be 800 rwhp in the next year or two.
My options are...
Build the MN12.
Sell the MN12 and buy a built mn6
Sell the Mn12 and buy a built tr6060
Would the mn6 or tr6060 be better with the taller gears for the supercharger? Can I get my Mn12 with taller gears? Can I get the tr6060 built with zr1 5th and 6th gears?
I am going to stay with the c5 rear end. Already have the ECS brace and Pdaft bar.

You will be better off with at last the mn6. You can also have a mn6 built with the mn12 5th and 6th to make the best t56. A zr1 tr6060 is the best trans. The zr1 has the best ratios from the factory for big power. The tr6060 also will hold more power than a t56. Not all tr6060's are the same either. A base tr6060 will not hold as much power as z06 or zr1. Some companies that will put tr6060 parts inside a t56 case but it may be the base tr6060 parts. In my opinion go with a full tr6060 swap, the rear end and all.

You can "build" the mn12 all day long but in reality the gears themselves are only going to hold so much power given the physical size of the gears. The only advantage of going with an mn6 is the gearing; you can always change the diff gearing to get a similar effect with your mn12.
The big advantage of the 6060 is the physical size of the gears, much bigger than the t56 based transmissions.
At 800whp, a t56 based trans (mn12 or mn6) will hold the power if you drive normally. If you plan on beating on it a lot, then eventually it will break. A stock 6060 will hold 1000whp.
If your budget allows, I would look for a 6060 trans from a ZR1. You can keep the C5 diff, but it will need modification to accept the 6060 shaft. I run a 6060 trans/diff from a ZR1 in my twin turbo z06. The 6060 shifts so much better than the mn12 for me. The tall 1st gear does take some getting used to but it really doesn't bother me. I have learned that its best to do it right the first time and always allow yourself room to grow with more power.

It will not. They make a different brace for the 6060

I have seen a few tr6060 setups for sale here. Just keep an eye out in both the c5 and c6 parts for sale sections. I found my setup for sale in a face book group but it was posted on here as well.

Night and day difference going from the C5 options to a 6060. Throw one in and let her eat in 3rd and 4th. The top of 3rd, and all of 4th gear are just insane with how they pull

my best friend had a 99 c5 we had built up a fair bit but had a stock trans and diff. when I bought mine with a broken driveline I jumped on the opportunity to build it right the first time, plus got a killer deal on a lightly used low miles built driveline. It consisted of a RKt6060, RPM built z06 diff, plus the Z axles and TT. now I tell you all that to inform you that I was amazed at how beautifully this thing shifts. under power its even better. now my buddy drove it, not even 5 miles. came back to the house and stated, his next vette will have a 6060. I highly suggest going that route as well

For anyone with big power 800+ that has switched from a MN12 to a TR6060 has your traction improved? Less gear ratio, less torque multiplication...noticeable improvement?

I did not traction issues when I was making 700 with an mn6. I was having problems at 890 with the mn6. I am sure it would have only been worse with an mn12. The other advantage is the 3 to 4 shift. The mn12 has a bigger drop in rpm on 3 to 4 due to the 3rd gear. It keeps you in a better spot of the power band.
