Default Would an aftermarket torque convertor make a big difference?

2001 c5 stock bottom end and top, A4 and 2:73 gear.. Mods will be an ecs 1500 blower kit, 1 7/8” headers, new balancer and meth. I have all and will be installed in January maybe sooner by a reputable shop. Car is not a daily driver ..just for taking out and cruising the streets looking for action. No roll racing but 1/8th mile stuff on the street and 1/4 mile at the track. My question is would an aftermarket torque convertor help me a lot in my strip and Street races/Times? Willl
i be blowing through the stock convertor losing power? Was thinking like a 3000 stall something not to over power my tires out the hole to much. I’ll be buying some tires as well.

Absolutely a converter will help. Sounds like a 3000-3200 stall would be just fine for you. I wouldn't go much over 3600 for street use but that's personal preference.
I'm sure some other folks on here have more experience with supercharged auto setups.

I would also get a 3.42 diff since you are pulling it all

I have the 342's with a stall 3400, it is hard to describe in words the feel of acceleration you are going to feel.

Now the bad.......the stock A4 is not going to last with pulls from a dig. It will depend how often you get on it but sooner or later you will be upgrading that too.

Plan out a good cooling system for the trans fluid. An aftermarket torque converter adds a lot more heat into the system. I run 2 of the largest coolest on the market and 1 has a fan. Both are up front to get fresh air through them. My trans generally runs at 180-190*. Yesterday it was 50* and it ran at 140* without the fan on.

ok. So so far around a 3000 stall would help my 1/4 mile times, get a transmission cooler to keep cool. a gear change would be nice too and look forward to my tranny possibly not lasting to long with racing from a dig. Got it lol.

with the blower first gear is useless on the car as is. (i have set the 1-2 shift point to 4000 rpm.) so i wonder how shorter gearing and higher stall will "help"? launch in second?

Well I didn't want to mention it but I blew my motor before the trans

Lots of it has to do with how I drive my car

I think that has a lot to do with power level and traction. I may be wrong but I don't think many people putting a centrifugal blower in keep 273's or stock stall. Both things get the motor into the power band of the blower quicker.
