Default installation manual STS turbos

I'm looking for a installation manual for a twin turbo kit. I just got the car and would like to know what some of the things are for sure. I figured this sight is so big someone has to have one or know someone who would. Thank you Kevin

What's the setup on the car and how does it feel? Any issues with lag?

Default Lag

It does have some lag. I was thinking about coating exhaust to see if it helps. The motor is all stock I think a camshaft would help. Also no controller and it only makes about 7psi.
the kit is an STD with upgrade turbos from precision not sure of size. It has all stainless piping. It was originally Bill Devines car that owns Bullseye turbos.

You can wrap the exhaust which will help some with the lag- but if your car is lowered make a skid plate from sheet aluninum tor speed bumps will shred it. Ask me how I know.
My kit did nt have stainess tubing
THere should be a manual boost controller or you will be on the spring setting of the waste gate only. Electronic controller helps a lot.
Most STS kits came w fairly small turbos - brand varied
Comp Makes rear mount specific cams w reverse duration spread
Early kits have crap return pumps- I always advise a Trurbowerx scavene pump
One of those pressure switches is for a warning buzzer for the pump
Bullseye is Borg Warner- unless the one you reference is a different company

Bill had the kit installed when he was manager of STS is what I was told. the turbo's are Precisions looks to be a 48ar housing. I plan to pull them to make sure they are OK it has twin white return pumps. need to figure out who's they are.
Thinking about putting boost control on it but I know the motor has not been apart and would worry about the rings butting and hurting a piston with them not being opened up.

THe two pump solution was to add a second marginal pump as backup due to so many pump failures. Thats why my advice is Turbowerx and dont look back.
Have you done a leak down? If the engine is in good shape you should be ok as long as the tune is good. Hopefully you had a tuner that knew what he was doing. The STS canned tunnes were all over the map as they were done by several different people and were generally regarded as far too conservative.
I run 10# on a dead sock 116k engine no issues in 4+ years

I have to leak it this weekend. I know the tune was done by the guy I got it from and was done with HP tuners. I would like to put it on E85 in the spring. Thanks for the advise
