Walbro 450 in factory bucket
decided to replace my intank with a walbro 450 F90000267
factory pump has over100k on it, switched over in E85 in 2013. now I have some more room. I have a external secondary fuel system anyway.
so the goal is to pretty much use the factory bucket as a hanger.
have to note the top, to know which orientation you need to put the filter, so it sits flat as possible at the bottom of the tank. the filter sock I used has a 45* angle. DeatschWerks 9-0836
the pump will sit offset in the bucket, the sock will be hangout the bottom. I made a template and trimmed accordingly.
The walbro 450 is shorter overall, and wider at the base.
Connect the power and ground, I removed the pin from the original harness. added a new pin to walbro connector. plug and play from there

Did you change anything on the wiring bulkhead to handle the increased electrical current? I thought the pins on the OEM bulkhead had a relatively low current capacity.

im getting ready to finish ordering parts to do basically the same thing and with there was a way to not have giant intake tubes running through the entire engine bay lol
Great progress so far man, whats you HP goal?

supposedly they are rated for 14A....the walbro 450 pulls a max of 16A. I have yet to see the bulkhead connector get damaged from it. especially when the fuel cools it constantly.

i'm somewhat sorry I took so long, it's just so easy to get distracted and not work on it. I'm excited for summer though, should have a some good new content, as I'm putting together a Twin turbo camaro also

bleeding the cooling system went quick and easy.
couple my odds and ends to tie up. and it'll be on road worthy again.
I do have a cam sensor code to sort, P0343, appears to be GenIV swap related, having some starting issues. other than than, runs good so far, too good, im concerned

I think I saw some of this posted on C5 Modified on fb.
I have to say, that car looks and sounds AMAZING. That is a serious project you're wrapping up. I used to have it in me, but I am just real happy with my bolt-on blower now.
What is your goal for the car? Going for a HP high water mark, or a time in the 1/4?

couple more nick nacks, and it'll be on the road again. sounds and runs healthy so far.
thanks man, But yea, I'm not doing a drivetrain job on jackstands again, it really took me two years to complete , very unmotivating at times. I even bought another car to fill the void, but then that broke, that was my sign to finish this As for a goal, I've owned the car 12yrs, and honestly enjoyed the car in all the forms I've had it, from bone stock, to cammed, to nitrous, to single to now this, I just want to keep enjoying it and have keep impressing me. If it goes 9s that'll be cool. but it's primarily a street car, setup to work on the street y mexico

completed the underhood fitment, relocated my fuel return lines and regulator, got vacuum lines to do next, then test drive. I have a Holley dominator for the car to install. but I just want to get some miles on it first, get any mechanical bugs works out, if any.

Do you have a factory radiator or is that a Dewitts aftermarket? Stock fans?
