If you're taking the heads off to do all that work....I think I'd be having serious conversations with whoever made the heads ! As a major manufacturing defect like that should mean a warranty and they should resolve it.

Bought the head/rocker setup brand new/used from Ls1tech member.
ETP is no longer in business and has been bought by MAST .
MAST changed the mold .

So im stuck with them, i will fix this issue and they will work with a little more effort than i thought.

Ahh right, guess you just have to make it work.

I suppose one maybe easier option if you had room, was to bond/weld/adapt some cover spacers to the head, which in turn might then give the valve cover a correct surface to mate to ?

I've done this before. I siliconed the spacer to the head and then only had to worry about the valve cover seal as usual. As an addition to this idea, maybe mill down the perimeter of the heads and weld the spacers to it so it'll end up staggered outward as needed. You'll be able to make quick business with it since you have such an awesome machine to play with.

I like the idea but this would mean that i would have to use stock VC since both the Proform and new Katech would be too high ???
Im kinda lucky i got acces to a lot of toys, like a Mazak Nexus ,Mori Seiki and Brothers TC-32B

Could you shoot me your cell phone by pm...i lost it when my last cell died.
I will need some hint /wiring direction on the special custom kit you sold me last year to use a ls3 maf even at my power level and a Mecham alt .
Also later a base tune if i ever finish this damn project...

Thanks
Eric

The use of a spacer then the Proforms...would just then require taller posts ?

I'm sure it wouldnt be difficult to adapt one way or another. But if you can weld em up and machine them etc....maybe it is just as handy although it does loo like they're bolted up to your engine

Working with spacers would at least avoid head removal.

Does anyone knows in what type of aluminium/cast heads are made ?(mast/etp/afr).
My final idea would be to machine a custom aluminium bar( just like a spacer) then weld it to the head instead of building thickness by adding material (Tig welding).

Would try to use the same type of material cast /aluminium.

Thanks
