Default Question about 8 rib A&A and stock 6 rib crank pulley.

Hey all, Thanks in advance for all the help.

Is it possible to use a 6rib belt on a 8 rib kit? My stock 6 rib crank pulley is on the car, but I have someone offering to sell me his 8 rib kit and wondered if the ribs would line up and if there would be any interference or integrity issues.

as long as everything is lined up properly you shouldn't have any issues but you might as well get an 8 rib overdrive balancer to go with the rest of the kit since it will be down anyway when replacing the other pulleys, plus the stock balancer is junk anyway

Thank you both for your replies.

Smoke 1, doesn't the cheaper A&A 6 rib kit use the stock 6 rib balancer? I don't plan on pushing too much boost. I'd like to retain some of the longevity of the engine so I'd only like to make about 75 to a 100 more horses for now. What are your reservations with using it?

I'm definitely going to change the stock balancer and pulley somewhere down the line, but not until I can afford it or unless I have to.

I have no idea about the A&A kit Nuetron82 uses their kit. I would at least look at Summit racing's site and get the Power bond PB1117N and the ARP bolt 234-2503, about 100.00 in parts for this stuff.
A new GM front seal and a pin kit to pin the crank

Oh that's cheap! Do you have to drop the pan to do the front seal?
