Supercharged -- Difficult to Chirp Rear Tires
A friend of mine has an M6 Corvette C5 and recently commented on how easily the car chirps the rear tires in first and second gear. I'm not a huge fan of burnouts, but admit was curious as to what my car was capable of. Found a desolate country road with new blacktop last night and tried to find out. Put the car in first gear, traction control OFF, let the clutch out slowly and then hammered the throttle. No wheel spin, car hooked right up. Then I tried more throttle, let the clutch out quicker and buried the gas pedal -- why no burnout?
My car is an iron block 370c.i.d., forged bottom end, camshaft {232/240 - 595/608 115lsa}, ported 317 heads, ECS Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger, Kooks headers, McCleod twin disc clutch. At 2800-3000 rpms' the blower kicks in and the car pulls like a freight train.
Wheels are CCW 19" with Hankook Ventus V12 305/30/19 tires with decent tread remaining.
Car starts, idles and drives well. No codes or trouble lights.
I know it could possible be a dozen different things holding me back, but looking for some insight from you guys.

Something isn't right. With the mods and tires you have, you should be able to easily spin the tires. If the car pulls hard up top, either the clutch is slipping or there's a timing issue down low. Or you just have an amazing suspension set up.

I agree it should spin with those tires but if it is in fact running right and pulling hard I wouldn't complain one bit, spinning tires is for the cool kids not winning races

Tire diameter and final drive ratio are factors. Factory ratios aren't always good for acceleration from a stop. It's a manual so rev to 4k and dump the clutch. That should give you a burnout.

Clutch slipping? Im able to make TCS activate (and bog down to 3500~) or chirp second pretty good in an all stock base model on 325 19 michelin pilot sports
Clutch wear, something to do with the clutch install, or you could be keeping just enough pressure on the clutch pedal to let it slip

What tires do you have? And what tires does your friend have? That'll make a huge difference.
