Upping the boost on the Magnuson...
I am pretty sure LPE is working on more boost. But I was wondering if any inquisitive minds have tried getting more boost out of the Magnacharger. Or is it pretty much breathing as hard as it can at the stock boost level???

There are several articles written about the different super chargers and actually everyone who is making one currently has reasons as to why you can not up the boost too much on a stock LS1 motor. In short it has to do with the temps that the magnason produces because it has no way of cooling the air before entering the cylinder. You would need to lower the compression in your motor for starters to compensate. I'm sure someone will up the boost with out changing anything, but it might have a bad effect on the motor. Do some searching to explain more about what I am trying to convey.

You might be able to squeak out another 1-2 psi with a pulley swap. More than that and the heat will be extreme.
Lower C/R. Less Timing. I'd consider playing with it a little if I had one and there was a hood that I liked.

There aparently is a intercooler for the magnacharger. Lingenfelter has it listed as part of the package for there Hummer H2 . http://www.lingenfelter.com/pac6ltmagschum.asp
I bet that would let you turn up the boost.

I believe each magnason gets a custom intake and ours doesn't allow room for an intercooler. If temps get too high with boost you are looking at water/alky injection as your only solution.

I'm considering doing just that this winter, going from 5.5 to 7 should be schweet. 1.5psi x ~20rwhp/psi=~30rwhp. Cheap rwhp, IMHO. 30+465=495rwhp
You are    :jester
Do you still have the stock A4 tranny?
