Default Drag times from ATI procharger setup and traction issues

Everyone has been talking about no one posting times from their ATI procharger setups so here is my best e.t. of the day. It was a track rental so I could try just about anything and had plenty of time to do it. Traction is obviously a major issue and I tried a couple different wheel/tire combos. The stock Z06 clutch cannot manage the amount of horsepower these setups can generate with ideal tracation situations....something has to give. I have a set of NItto Drag radials that are size 315/35-17 on a set of Z06 front wheels that I used to get the best e.t. I also had a set of E.T. Streets mounted on Camaro Z-28('95)wheels size 26x11.5-16. These wheels are too tight to mount without a slight reduction to the upper ball joint assembly....so get out the grinder and watch the metal fly. With the e.t. streets the car would have decent traction on launch but on the 1-2 shift the clutch would slip like crazy and you could really smell the friciton material. I thought it was just my imagination and I tried another run with the same result....major clutch slippage on the 1-2 shift. Needless to say I went back to the Nittos to try them. After perfecting my launch technique with the Nittos, I managed a 1.62 60' time which was the best of the day. The car spun badly on the 1-2 shift and stopped spinning as soon as I shifted 3rd. If any of you guys have driven a Z06 with a superchager you realize how short 2nd gear is even if traction had been ideal. Basically, shift at 6500 and as you look at the tach it is at 6000 immediately after the 1-2 shift. I'm sure that I lost some time there but I am still happy with the result. Here are is my time slip:

60'-1.62
1/8-7.300@99.4
1/4-11.29@124.14

My car still has the stock exhaust manifolds, cats, and cat back exhaust. Because of some other problems in the past, the heads have been worked a little with the combustion chambers opened for less compression...it is about 9.7:1 now. I swapped to a Comp cams that is more ideal for supercharged setups....fairly small grind with less lift than the stock Z06 cam with specs 214/224 .525/.532 114LSA. Well, at least I have posted a halfway reasonable time as I have not seen anything in this range for an ATI setup. Its now time to buy a more substantial clutch and see what this thing will really do. As for belt issues with my ATI.....I haven't had any with my stock 6 rib setup and stock tensioner....maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones.

Stephen....02 Z06-D1SC with 8psi boost(4.25" pulley) running 93 octane.

My 1987 C4 wheels just came in on the truck off of Ebay today. I picked them up for $127. 16X9.5" in the rear...I have MT/ET's on order 26" 11.50 and some 26 3/4 "skinnies on order. Tomorrow I will take in the front wheels and have them cut down to 16X4.5" to run the skinnie MT/ET's. I expect to be in the 10's. I new it was just a matter of time (I was hoping to be one of the first but at my rate it looks like some one will beat me) to get into the 10's. I think mid 10's will be easily attainable for you. Nice shot...now to sqeeze the throttle through 2nd. I know easier said then done!

Great numbers. :smash: Good luck on the traction issues, but in the meantime I bet it's still just too much fun to drive. :D

And thanks for stepping up and stating you results while others have been less than nice about the lack of such statements in the past.

Hopefully after I swap the clutch to a better unit and get my headers I'll be in the high 10's. That is my goal and it is so sweet that I can do this on pump gas. Thanks for the responses.
