Custom 3" exhaust completed
Here are a few pictures that were sent to me by the owner/fabricator doing the exhaust work on my FRC. I had found a Kooks full 3" x pipe but it didnt have the flanges installed on it to bolt onto my headers for some reason. Instead of cutting it apart to install the flanges or pulling my headers off to v band both we decided to just use my existing kooks x pipe and cut the 2.5" section off and start the new exhaust from there.
I also had purchased a lg big 3" axleback but just didnt like the design/layout and the way it made the u bends like the stock exhaust. So I took my grinder and cut out the trunk tub and made a plate out of aluminum to cover it up and give me all the room I needed.
I chose the Borla xr1 mufflers because I have one on my fbody and liked the sound of it. The new piping is all 3" stainless with v band connections and the tips were something my friend had sitting on the shelf at his muffler shop.

Interesting. I'm wondering if you could run a C6 exhaust after modifying the floor.
I'm not a fan of the snake routing on the C5's under the trunk. I have the idea to come over the axle then 45* to a muffler then a turndown hidden exiting on the corners of the rear bumper. Simplify the routing but not sure if I'll like not having tips in the center.

that looks real nice!... how much did that run you?... I wouldn't mind having mine done like that and get my corsa xtremes converted to 3" over axles if it didn't cost an arm and a leg

I'm surprised I have not found many pictures of people making custom setups for C5's. I guess most like to just bolt something on LOL.
There is a chance I'll try LT's with pressure wave termination box and a custom stealth axle back with turndowns. Any car I drive has to some something custom in terms of exhaust LOL
