Default Another Dang CXRacing build and results

I started this new build the end of Febuary. Old setup was UPP 5871kit on a forged 370. I t worked good for couple years then kept having issues with the turbos just leaking oil out the compressor and exhaust sides. So that kit was removed and now the current setup is below. These are the finished pics and video, I wont bore everyone with all the mods to get it reliably placed and everything's new home. As soon as it was running I had 3 days of street driving testing, then loaded trailer up and drove it 7hrs to Race in Hot Rod magazines top speed shootout/ECTA Blytheville mile. I had ignition issues most of first day racing. Then relocated coils back to valve covers. I made a test pass on 12#'s going 193.4 taking it easy. Bumped boost to 20#'s and lost oil pressure about 1/2 mile marker. Off to U-haul and got it home and tore apart. Center 3 main caps warped and crank broken, no oil starvation noticed anywhere else in engine, very strange.

Engine
Forged LQ4 370, Wiseco pistons (10:1), K1 rods, Stock crank, ported 317 heads, JFR Stage 2 turbo cam, Edelbrock Proflo intake and 90mm throttle body, Boch 96# 3barr injectors. 1.5 quart oil accumulator

Drivetrain,
2012 STAGE 5 6060 and diff, McCleod rxt, 2.75" minitub with 335/30/18 toyo r888r rear/255/40/17 r888r fronts.

Turbo kit
CX Racing Hotside, Work Turbo S480 Billet 1.10 T4 with front bumper exit 4" downpipe Turbosmart 45mm hypergates, Tial 50mm blow off valve, CXRacing intercooler and reconfigured piping. There is a turbo brace off bottom of center section.. No coatings yet

Cooling suystem
is LS3 2008 water[pump with cut outlet barb, CXRacing c6 radiator (relocated and modified radiator crash cage, Mishimoto 12" high output fans, 2 row 16" oil cooler, stock relocated PS cooler.

Teardown in progress

New replacement 370 will be ready end of next week for me to bust *** and be ready for Rocky Mountain Race week next month. My wallets blowing dust clouds right now though.

Also I've got heat shields on master cylinder, alternator, upper coolant pipe, and overflow tank. Not heat issues at all during my 7 hour drive

Love the title, lol. Awesome man. Sorry just hear about the motor though.

For the fans, did you trim the aluminum fan shroud for the larger fans, or just run it as is? I also bought some 12" fans but looks like the cutouts are 10". I was going to try to cut them out with a plasma cutter.

I made my own shroud to cover the whole radiator finned area and to pull the fans 1/2” closer to the radiator. I needed all the room i could get. I foam sealed the shroud to the radiator gap. I kicked the radiator to 28degrees tilt. Ihad to cut the lower radiator hose barb and welded a new extension on it at the new angle.

In for results. Can't wait to see what it will do with a healthy motor.

Also, how do you like that kirkey seat? I've been eyeing them up ever since I took out my OMP seat so I could put it in my Subaru.

Honestly ive used them for so long, the stock sport power seat seems awkward. Getting it to fit my 6’1 230# frame with an sfi20 firesuit and gear was a pita thoughafter the rollcage had already been built.

Clearances were stock, stock crank 370 iron setup. Thought I might of lost another one going into a good pull last night, big backfire/pop. But luckily code p0200 popped up. Got home and found a damn broken lead on injector 8. All fixed and good as new on the drive to work this morning.
