Default Fuel Pressure is fluctuating between 58 PSI and 64 PSI ??Anybody else using the Vortech T-Rex Pump?

I know its normal for the fuel pressure to drop slightly under hard acceleration / Boost.. But lately i noticed that my fuel pressure is fluctuating when I'm just cruising..It's never done this before.

It's like a yoyo ..It goes down to 58 PSI and then up to 64 PSI , it's driving me nuts

There's no noise coming from my pump and the car still runs fine.

Here's a pic of the Pump I have installed..

http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...tegory_Code=FC

I'm thinking about having this pump removed and going with the in-tank Racetronix pump.

Any idea's why it's fluctuating ??

Thanks !!

Jeff

If it is electric... when you are using other things in the car you will notice a drag on your fuel pump that you can see on the fuel pressure gauge.

It's never done this before..Even at Idle when I have everything turned off it still fluctuates from 60 PSI- 64 PSI.

My concern is that maybe the pump may be on the verge of failing..So I think I'm going to change it.

I'm just not sure if I should go with the same Vortech pump or have a Racetronix installed in the tank.

What are you using as an FMU? Does the problem get worse/better as the motor heats up?

I am running the pump that vortech supplied and it seems to run between 58 and 62 lbs. my C5 runs great and I have about 21 drag races on it since that SC install.

I spoke to one of the Tech's at Vortech ..He thinks my fuel filter is clogged.
I'm going to change it tomorrow and see if that helps.

I think if it was the fuel filter it would just be lower pressure no fluctuate. You still have lots of pressure however I know how little things can drive one crazy.
